Whisky has killed more men than bullets, but most men would rather be full of whisky than bullets.

I agree Terry, I feel the same. The red DoubleCab belongs to a buddy of mine, he paid 8k for it 6 years ago. You can't find a total rust bucket for less than 15k now...toxicavenger wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 10:30 pm^^^sweet pieces. But at that kind of cost it really isn't a car anymore for me.

A partner of mine picked one up a year or so ago for $36K and was bragging about what a great deal he got on it. Now he’s been doing nothing but dumping money into it. New brakes, transmission, engine etc...it’s an affliction much like watches I thinkJDC222 wrote:Those are fetching huge $$ these days...not the one's with JP stains though.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 8:17 amOne of my girlfriends in high school drove one of those. That's why the old school, air-cooled buses are the way to go! Parts are getting hard to find for the Vanagons, they aren't making them any longer. I'm off to the VW show, I'll post pics later.Captdave wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:36 amA partner of mine picked one up a year or so ago for $36K and was bragging about what a great deal he got on it. Funny I remember when Vanagons got no love at all. Especially the aircooled version.JDC222 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:44 amThat's why the old school, air-cooled buses are the way to go! That DC is dope. One of my favorite honestly. I was never a SC fan. But the bay windows are my favorite VW hands down. Splits are not made for fat guys like me. Not to mention they have always been out of my price range.JDC222 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 10:50 pmI agree Terry, I feel the same. Hey that red Bay window with the Porsche slots on it, what is the compartment on the drivers side? Propane hook ups?

That Bay window with Fuchs looks dope. I bet they are running a Porsche engine also.
