No, but they sell for more via the official channels in the USA and for MUCH more in Europe.
Yes, it's JDM. I'm not sure about USA but it's not officially available in Europe.

Yes you saw. It was an exception. Sometimes you can find JDM models in boutiques only with quite high price. I found this article on Fratello that also confirms.
"A pity, as I believe that Seiko could be really strong with some of the models that they keep as ‘JDM’ right now. Examples are the Marinemaster 300 and Marinemaster 1000 (Tuna) models. For some of these models, small exceptions are being made to offer them for sale via the Seiko Boutiques (instead of the regular retail channels), but there is quite a mark-up on the price of these “import” models."

I tried to order mine Tuna here in Europe through Seiko Germany which is main importer for our region and they said that this models aren't available here. They can't import it.
I also never saw them at any retailer or online European shop.

I've been meaning to pick this one up and Ho Dinkee email showed to remind me, so I just ordered the same watch for ~225 less :)

Too bad your crappy Seiko has never been within 10,000 feet of Ben Clymer! That's easily worth two hundo.

Not to derail this thread but anyone catch the WUS "street price" thread on the SLA033? Seems the perceived value isn't $4.5K. Shocker!

https://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/new-s ... st49524395

https://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/new-s ... st49547155

Saw this one coming a mile away, and some of the owners are trying to save face by bashing the opposition. Nothing beats the perceived price:quality of the turdle for this style of watch, and I'll even throw-in the modern Samurai. If you want alien-build quality you have to stick with GS.

8L35 under the hood should have been the same price as the current MM300 renditions max, although as mentioned here, I still think it's overpriced for both.

They shit the bed on this one and we called it out of the gate... They should have offered it with the 6R movement and sold it <$1000 as a Shogun alternative all day long. WTF are they smoking? I'd have one on my wrist while typing this. :banghead:
I’d be curious to handle this reissue. I love it in pictures but I can’t wrap my head around the price. If the finishing is no stronger than the NAFT that kind of shoots it. The NAFT isn’t bad but the finishing is nothing special.
Fondled it for some time yesterday and I refrained from posting about it on WUS after I saw the heated debates with the delusional fanboys trying to save their "investments". Anyone who says these 033s are finished to the level of a GS or even the higher end Marinemasters are at best confused, or outright liars at worst. Here are some quick pics. ImageImageImageImage

Very true, I had to stay within my budget and opted for no Ben's DNA on the watch :(

I realize we have at least one DWCer who has one and likes it, but that watch doesn't appeal to me at all. The case shape manages to be blobby, too wide, and thick looking on the wrist. If a micro came out with that case, everyone would hate on it.

+1 I can't stand that watch and 20mm strap on that pregnant case exaggerates bad proportions even further. 62Mas was their best Re-issue "high-end" Diver

What if I got the same cardigan and took nervous sips like Ben from Ho Donkee branded 4 Oz bottle of water? Could I be part of the cool club

No. We can smell social risers. If your family didn't arrive on the Mayflower and you don't come from at least three generations of 1% wealth we can tell. I bet you don't even summer in the Hamptons!

I like it but not enough to pay anything over $1,500. I personally know several local "collectors" who rushed to buy it on launch day citing its legendary status, heritage, and various other bullcrap to justify the purchase, while it's painfully obvious they only buy it because they expect to get at least 50% profit when they sell it in 1-2 years.
