$3800 for a watch that’s worth about $1400 tops in my opinion. More money than brains is all I will say.

I understand why people over pay for Rolex, AP, and PP. They’re rich people buying rich guy stuff. I don’t understand over paying for an oris. If you have $4k go buy genuinely good watch for $4k. An oris is incomparable to a modern omega.

Wholeheartedly agree with Don and Chestnut.

Nothing wrong with Oris but the value isn’t there past 1.5-2k

There is a mad rush of these for sale now, all north of 3K, all unworn. It appears to me that a lot of these buyers had no interest in the watch itself, merely flipping for a quick profit. Hard to be just a watch lover nowadays.

It’s not even that. It’s that it’s not Special at all. It’s a different color way and no date.
The fact someone would pay $3800 for a hodinkee LE that is no different than the regular model; only because hodinkee is just, well, sad.

I still stand by the that this particular Oris, the sixty-five, is extremely overpriced even in its regular configurations. I was not impressed with that watch at all.

If one popped for the $2300...I’d be sorely tempted.

Maybe once the hysteria/madness dies down. And in the hope that prospective buyers don’t cave to these prices.

I think a lot of guys buy these just so they can be one of the Hodinkee crowd at a Dink GTG.

FWIW, there's a handful of IWC/Hodinkees currently for sale at under MSRP that don't seem to be moving. I guess not every Hodinkee collaboration turns to gold...

In fairness it's one of their worst in my opinion.
Agreed. It's less watch for way more money without any brand prestige. IMO, it really has nothing going for it.
