Custom Made by GasGasbones - fan blade stand
Hi Guys,
Some of you may appreciate this here. I was given the Rolls Royce fan blade by my late mother mant years ago and always had the idea of displaying it somehow.
My original concept was to have it suspended with inspiration taken from from the M B and F Legacy Machine, the one with the hanging balance wheel.
I knew Carl at GasGasbones was the man for the job and after some initial discussions it became apparent the blade would be too heavy to suspend so I have over to full creative input by Carl and I couldn't be happier with the results. The blade spins freely and I can hook some sort of motor to drive at some point.
The finishing and level of detail is quite amazing and he has fully captured the feel of what I was looking for. I love it. My mom would have loved it.
The pics do not do it justice but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
Head over to Carl's website for more pics. I can highly recommend him for any custom work.

I love the paper and metal tags/documentation were those from you mom, too or part of the design process?

The paper parts tag came with the turbine. I asked Carl if he could recreate it and that's what he came up with. The red lettering is a real win.rockmastermike wrote:that is amazing work and tribute

Cool! What's it from? Given the small diameter, I'm guessing it's from an APU or stationary power plant.

Not sure what it is from, a small jet engine of some sort. I think from a Beagle? My mom work in the aviation parts supply business. I don't know how she acquired it.

That is truly awesome, congrats! I thought it was small until I saw Carl's pictures. Even more awesome.

Hook that sucker up to a 3hp electric motor and put it in your room for the summer months. Just be sure you aren't the sleep walking type or it might cut your dick (or head) off.
