Oris + Hodinkee collaboration 6-26-19

Post by Joeprez » Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:43 am

So, any ideas of what's coming?

https://limited.hodinkee.com/oris/

I would say probably one of the new diver 65 watches (40mm or 42mm). Maybe an Aquis? Oris have made a lot of collaborations for their dive watches recently, curious that Hodinkee would agree to one too. Would have expected one with Tudor before Oris.

The world has no need for another Diver 65 collab, but if they do something interesting with the Aquis GMT, I'm all in.

Same, I just didn’t want the blue one they have currently on offer.

Joe, how about if was a cross between the two?

Could maybe be an Aquis, but with the cool vintage feel of the Diver 65 !
Totally know that I am way off, but that might be fun to see in any case. :)

Less watch for more money. It’s basically a Hamilton Khaki Field with a bezel.

Really wished it wasn’t a 65 – the market reached peak saturation on those years ago.

I dig it, but as a previous owner of the automatic Diver 65mm in 40mm, the watch was already slim enough and it's not a $2.3k watch in my opinion. Still I like the look, plus 250 LE if anyone cares:

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any mention of the fact that the LE has no date.

I think it's the best of the Diver 65 limited editions. I've always been surprised that micro brands haven't come out with this combo of grey bezel/matte dial given how popular the style is.

not feeling the ghosty bezel, plus the price... like T said, a nice $900 watch

I hate that ugly bracelet. Did they fit it to this LE special, or do all of these have an ugly ass Tudor BB style fake rivet bracelet?

Handwound, no date, and more expensive for basically the same watch?

Mind blowing that these sell as quickly as they do. Sort of the same reason the green dial Daytona shot up in value after John Mayer’s Hodinkee endorsement...

The regular 40mm model comes with the same bracelet.

That design is so crappy. I saw a BB58 fitted with an older hollow end link Rolex bracelet (apparently the stock BB58 end links fit perfectly) and it looked awesome.
