New TAG Heuer Monaco "Through Time" L.E. 1969-1979
New TAG Heuer Monaco "Through Time" L.E. 1969-1979
Am thinking you guys have probably seen TAG Heuer Monaco "Through Time"
L.E. 1969-1979. But just in case, have a little info, along with pictures just
in case.
The new watch helps to celebrate 50 years of the Monaco, and will be
limited to 169 watches. With specifications like a 39mm x 39mm stainless
steel case, 100m WR, decorated green dial with amber, and brown
accents, black gold sunray sub-dials, luminous rhodium plated hands,
and markers, sporty leather strap, and 59 jewel TAG Heuer caliber 11
automatic behind special case-back guys.
Here is a look...
Timezone, and Hodinkee with a lot more...

Thanks Tom. I saw it last week as Tag released it in time for the Monaco Grand Prix this past weekend.
I love the Monaco but I'm not feeling this one. Not really what I would have expected for an edition celebrating the watch's 50th anniversary. But there will be four other anniversary models so maybe Tag has something truly special in the wings. A 'Dark Lord' reissue would be very cool.

A reissue of this would be pretty special. Using the original pushers would make it even more so...

How can they make an iconic watch look like a tweed jacket

Hmmm...Not digging the guilloche on this one - looks like 1971 wood paneling at a distance.
Colorways are quite complementary though (at least in this shot).

Have to admit, honestly am liking this one guys. But can see what everyone is
saying about the dial. ..You know what would have been neat?! Is if they had multiple
colors maybe. Like a nice blue, black, or silver added to the mix. With this version
being just one of several in a special collection.
That way there would have been something for everyone. ..Like with a new version
of that Monaco you are showing Andrew !

I like it too...but then again like watches with the 70s vibe, but I am still not in...not a Tag fan at the momentAtomicTom wrote:Have to admit, honestly am liking this one guys. But can see what everyone is

This is one of several in a collection. There will be five watches in total, they just haven't released the other four yet.

They’re supposedly doing one watch for each decade. This one being for the 70’s. It’s a dumb idea, but there are a lot of dumb people involved in the watch game.

The one for the 80s is going to be neon spandex inspired, and the 90s will be some grunge flannel.ncstate1201 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 5:11 pmEwww yah blah...one would sufficeJP Chestnut wrote:They’re supposedly doing one watch for each decade. I’m joking, of course, but it’s sad that this is a distinct possibility.

Re: New TAG Heuer Monaco "Through Time" L.E. 1969-1979
I think it's the best of the three they've issued so far, but I'm not crazy about the textured dial.
