Latest collection entry... Grand Seiko SBGN001
I posted this in the WRUW post the day I got this...but figured it deserved it's own thread.
I've been craving another Grand Seiko for a while after selling my snowflake, but I wanted something less shiny. Unfortunately, Grand Seiko's tool watch lineup these days is pretty slim. I've always had a fascination with the 9F movement, so my interest was naturally piqued when these GMT's were announced. I thought these LE SBGN001's were long gone since they were an LE of just 800, but when I meandered into our local AD, they happened to have one sitting in the case. Owner of the store offered a great price, so needless to say I had to go back and snag it.
Plus, wouldn't you know it's #666/800

Pretty cool; Grand Seiko, GMT and a unique number.

Yeah, you've gotta jump the hour hand fully around to change over the date. Fortunately, with it being quartz, you don't have to fuck with it too often.

I like this one. I also like the non-LE version. I might have to dump the SBGX117 to get one.

Those are so cool, congrats. Have you tried it on a nato? Do the 21mm lugs bother you?
Re: Latest collection entry... Grand Seiko SBGN001
Love this one.
Re: Latest collection entry... Grand Seiko SBGN001
Are they 21mm? I haven't taken it off the bracelet yet. But looks like it might be 19mm spacing. Can't find any details on it online.para13cord wrote:Those are so cool, congrats. Have you tried it on a nato? Do the 21mm lugs bother you?
But the bracelet is so good I haven't messed with straps at all yet.

Quick & dirty measurement using calipers...looks like it's 19mm.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 4:20 pmI thought it was 19mm. I am not sure.

Re: Latest collection entry... Grand Seiko SBGN001
Gotcha - I remember reading it wasn’t a typical size. Probably not big enough difference to matter for a nato though and wouldn’t stop me from buying it.
Re: Latest collection entry... Grand Seiko SBGN001
Those atypical strap sizes like 21 and 19 are so strange to me. I don't know why manufacturers don't just go 1mm up or down.para13cord wrote:Gotcha - I remember reading it wasn’t a typical size. Probably not big enough difference to matter for a nato though and wouldn’t stop me from buying it.
