Rado's Tradition Captain Cook MKII

Post by AtomicTom » Thu Feb 07, 2019 9:43 am

You guys have seen this thanks to Jeremy's cool preview a while
back. But wanted to add a little extra info into the mix.

Looks like the new Tradition Captain Cook MKII has that 37mm case,
size, 220m WR, a box style sapphire crystal, red, and white inner
rotating bezel, black dial with cream, or natural Super-Luminova
coated hands, and markers, beads of rice bracelet, or NATO, and
25 jewel ETA C07.611 underneath a nice case-back.

Have a few pictures...

I get the trend towards smaller watches, but 37mm men's dive watches? The industry may be over-rotating.

Agree in general Andrew, but with the internal bezel it probably wears bigger than 37 would otherwise suggest.

Oh the pain of waiting! Out of all the watches I have ever had on pre order, this is the most agonising. Cant wait for mine to ship. Spoke with the retailer and they said another couple of weeks. Seems Rado are producing and dispatching as they go. Interestingly, Rado said bulk of their orders go to China, their biggest market.
This is such a cool looking watch and evey pic I see of it reveals other exciting detail. Will post pics as soon as mine arrives.
On another note, I have a Glycine Combat Sub with bronze case. It shipped today from US and might get it before the Rado. Let's hope the DT import duties are not too high

I like it a lot. It’ll wear close to 40 with that fat case.

Oh wait- it’s over $2100. That’s hard to put down for a radio. That’s a few hundred away from a black bay.

Maybe it's marketed towards the skinny jeans crowd.

Tried that one on in NYC over Christmas and it was too small for me, but thought about showing it to the wife...until I saw the price. Then, it was too small and too expensive. Nice looking watch though.

Almost bought an original one last year. Passed because it was only 36mm, but cool watch though. Guy only wanted $225 - should have picked it up.

Yup, can really see what you guys are saying about the size of these.

But between the internal bezel, and case thickness, and length like
you guys are saying, along with the two crowns it might add few mm
at the same time. :)

Oh, and double congratulations on this one, and the Glycine that
are on the way Jeremy !!!  Thanks again for introducing
this one to us also by the way !

Steve, that is something how you almost had the original there sir ! :o
It was far ahead of it's time then, and actually still today actually.

Appreciate everyone just looking, and for giving their 2 cents !!!
