Re: 2018 ins & outs
With four in, and only one out this year, I’m due to consolidate. It’s been a couple years for most of my collection now.
The Coke GMT had been on my list for a long time, and I see why it really has been the only watch for so many guys. Takes anything you throw at it.
16710
Also really glad to have a Speedmaster back. The ST2 is a new take on the pre-Moon watch with an orange sweep seconds hand on a vintage looking stepped dial and DON bezel, and cased with the same movement in the current Professional. Notwithstanding 2019 could bring a 321-based limited edition for the 50th Anniversary, the Ultraman is unique, with all of the good vintage aspects I’d want in a Speedy.
Speedmaster “Ultraman”
SBDC005 went to its forever home.
The Seaforth arrived as a gift for the Mrs., although I’m really impressed with how well executed this is. The pastel dial is what she likes about it, but with a fixed bezel, the box sapphire is more noticeable, and is fantastic. Probably one of the nicest looking new watches I’ve seen this year.
Seaforth Series II Date
Looking forward to 2019 and the incoming Ares Diver 1.

Re: 2018 ins & outs
The Aquatimer came and almost went. I withdrew it due to its day wheel issue, got it fixed, now I’m glad it stayed. It’s really grown on me.
Andy, any particular reason the Skywalker came and left? I still have a soft spot for them.

Re: 2018 ins & outs
So do I, but when I got the Breitling Night Mission it seemed a bit OTT (even for me) to keep both.
The 5712 was a grail watch for me for years, but when I got it I never really bonded. Too delicate when most of my collection is tool watches. The fact that I was able to make a few pounds by moving it on, made the decision all the easier.

Re: 2018 ins & outs
Great stuff!!!!
For me... this is the only thing new for me:
Took my steel dial TT Daytona 116523, Tudor Blue Lollipop 76100, two hydronauts, and my Black Bay to get it...
Down to:
'54 6205 Submariner
'58 5508 Submariner
'08 16610 Submariner
116515 Daytona
167188 GMT II
16013 Datejust
I also still have a square dress Tudor and a couple of others like Victorinox Divemaster.
Blue 18k sub and white Milgauss and I'll be done!..... really!

I’ve lost track. Way too many in, not nearly enough out.

for me, it was a reduction year... 2 in and 6 out. I'm left with a speedy and an LPP chrono.

This was a year of low watch activity for me - no outs and only the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical in.

Re: 2018 ins & outs
My plan for 2018 was to save to get the BB58. I always sell/buy a couple of sub $500 watches (mostly Seikos), but still it was a slow year. I knew the BB58 would be awesome, so my 2018 surprise was the Hamilton Khaki Vintage military... what a cool watch. And yes, I sold and then bought again the NAFT PADI.
Outs:
Seiko NAFT PADI:
Aegir CD2:
Steinhart OVM 39mm:
Ins:
Seiko NAFT PADI
Seiko Solar Tuna:
Tudor BB58:
Hamilton Khaki:
For 2019, there's a Hamilton I want to try and maybe add back an Oris 65 40mm. After that is saving for another Rolex, but I'll wait till the market cools off.

Re: 2018 ins & outs
OK, so a lot in and a lot out this year (many of which were in and then out the same year (or month )), but I still have too many watches right now (19 if counting a 12/30 purchase of the Tudor BB58 that will arrive later this week). There were a lot of re-buys of the same or a similar watch this year as I continue to refine what I like (OK, who am I kidding I like divers, but just can't own every diver at once so they seem to rotate in and out). After picking up the BB58 yesterday, the main thing on my radar for 2019 is the newer Deep Sea James Cameron, and perhaps an FP Journe CB. I think this covers everything from the year that changed, but as with the last several years it all is a bit of a blur!
Out (or in and then also out) in 2018
Polished Titanium Arctic Blue Dial 41mm Kobold Soarway Diver - one of a kind, but sold in a consolidation; probably should have kept it given what I got for it.
Doxa 300 Searambler 50th Anniversary Model - love it, but redundant after picking up the the 50th Pro Black Lung
Ulysee Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Blue Surf LE - very cool watch that I wanted for years, but lost out to others after the novelty ran out
Seiko SLA017 Re-Issue - best Seiko I have owned, but wore a little weird and sold quickly while in consolidation mode
Sinn EZM 1:1 Limited Edition - really cool watch, but heavier than I wanted; would be a definite keeper it it was ti
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver - sacrificed for the Patek TT, but bought back later in the year; one I just cannot quit despite not being the most comfortable watch
Rolex GMT II 116710BLNR - liked it but sacrificed for the Patek TT, and got the Pepsi later in the year
Panerai Submersible 682 - liked it but sacrificed for the Patek TT; may be a repurchase option when prices come down more
Blancpain Bathyscape titanium - sacrificed for the Patek TT, and got the blue dial ceramic version later in the year
Sinn EZM2 Hydro - sold in the consolidation; probably should have kept it since I still linger over every new posting for one on the forums
Doxa Mission 31 Professional LE - always wanted one; but don't really like the limited strap 21mm and narrow lug strap options and just was not wearing it.
JLC Master Compressor Diving Automatic Navy Seals (42mm) - love this one, but it ran is course after having one in the collection for 6 or 7 years.
Blancpain Bathyscape 38mm LE Blue Dial - loved the look, but a tad too small; would be a keeper at 40mm or 41mm
Blancpain Tribute to Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec LE - loved it, but quick buy and sell after not being able to take off the sailcloth strap, but lead to OC III and spring bars.
Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Sea-Dweller 116660 - really loved it, but sacrificed for the OC III knowing I could pick up the new 22mm lugs version at some point.
Doxa 300 Sharkhunter 50th Anniversary Model - catch and release; might still pick up the BL version if I get in on the next 100 pre-sale
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Sport (blue flinque dial) - loved the dial, but sacrificed for the lighter titanium blue dial version, which I personally prefer
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Automatic (Blue Dial/3rd Gen) - love the new strap change system, but I prefer the blue on the earlier version and it got sacrificed for the Rolex GMT Pepsi.
Jaeger LeCoultre Tribute to Deep Sea Memovox (European Dial) - one of my favorites that I had wanted for years, but a bit of a tweener and did not get much wear so it got traded towards the Rolex SD 43mm
Sinn U1 Professional - love this one, but just too heavy for regular wear and competes with the AP and BPs; would be a keeper if it was in ti
Seiko Tuna SBBN031 - my 10th? tuna; still love them but still too heavy; just got the lighter solar model
Doxa Divingstar 300t Poseidon Limited Edition - impulse buy and really cool dial; but still prefer Doxa orange and blue; and the 600t and 50th ann. cases
Seiko Turtle SRPC23J - really cool mod, but a tad too heavy
In and Stayed in 2018 (does not include the ones that were here and weathered the storm through all of 2018)
Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time - sacrificed several great watches for this one, but really love it and have bought back or upgraded the ones I missed the most.
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Black dial 45mm - my original favorite large diver that had been sold long ago for different versions; but jumped at a great price from Matt G.
Blancpain Bathyscape Blue Dial Ceramic Case - the perfect Bathy for me in terms of the dial and weight, etc...'; still wish these were 22mm lugs.
Doxa Sub 600T Professional (Clive Cussler Edition) - had sold my last 600t two years ago and missed it; jumped when I saw a good one come up for sale; perfect nato watch along with the No Date SubC
Rolex 126710BLRO GMT Master II - This was really the only thing on my radar late summer and jumped despite the premium (in part because I was using watches to trade that had gone up in value as well); love it on bracelet and Oysterflex
Helson Shark Diver 40mm Brass - guilty pleasure, but not worn a ton and may sacrifice it for space in the watch box
Rolex Seadweller 50th Anniversary 43mm - almost perfect watch for me on RubberB with glidelock; just wish it had the no cyclops domed crystal from the Deepsea.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver - missed it after trading it earlier this year; and found a good one at a good price; this is my 4th or 5th one, and I don't see me selling it; finally picked up some different straps for it plus the deployant
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Blue Dial Titanium 45mm - wanted this one since it came out; awesome fit and feel; still wish these were 22mm lugs.
Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III - love, love, love this one despite the price tag and small size; would be even better if about 1mm to 1.5mm bigger, but the dial is awesome and I love the 20mm drilled lugs; may pick up the bracelet in 2019.
JLC Master Compressor Diving Alarm Navy Seals - another repurchase after at one point having the Auto and the Alarm, and then not having either for most of 2018; really like the size to weight ratio on this one, and got it at a great price; not 100% sure it will stick around if I go after the Deepsea JC.
Seiko Solar - was intrigued by the smaller case and love the weight; but not sold on the gold; will probably end up with a different version in 2019
Tudor Black Bay 58 - has not actually arrived yet, but in looks and on paper it ticks all my boxes

Re: 2018 ins & outs
Had a crazy summer for the 'in' column, and feel like I really need to reign it in for 2019. Landed these four, with a good deal of reduction in the rest of the collection:
Clearly, I've kinda cooled on dive watches for the time being, and the only watch I still really 'want' for 2019 is a properly sized Aqua Terra GMT. Also keen to replace my Geophysic that I parted with in 2017 – would love the blue boutique-exclusive, but not for what it's trading at right now. Would be sweet if JLC did more with the movement for SIHH 2019, but from what I understand, it was never a super-hot seller ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still have your EZM2 if you want it back...
Re: 2018 ins & outs
Two in, none out. Really need some “outs” this year.
Seaforth Pastel Blue. Supposed to replace the sunburst blue with this one. Still
Haven’t posted it.
And joined the NAFT crowd with the PADI over the summer.
