All this Pappy talk. It's made only 45 minutes down the road from me and I've never had any.

I think you should be investigating a LE DWC group buy.59yukon01 wrote:All this Pappy talk. It's made only 45 minutes down the road from me and I've never had any.

You won't find any for purchase there. Believe me, I looked.

This may help if you want a taste, and happen to be coming thru Kentucky, or even a few other states.

Re: ARES Watch Company
I've only seen it at 2 restaurants, one down here in St.Pete (off menu, need to ask about it) @ Rococo Steak, and one in Houston @ Pappas Bro's Steakhouse. I noticed a couple other places off that list, that are close enough to check out.59yukon01 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 12:17 pmTruth!JBZ wrote:You won't find any for purchase there. Looking more and more like Pappy = “Papi..."
Re: ARES Watch Company
I hope there's a future Explorer type version. Same dial and hands but with a fixed bezel and maybe a slightly smaller case.

First things first, my friend.
Re: ARES Watch Company
24 hours in on wear and I can confirm this case is fine on average sized (just under 7 inch) wrists.
In some of the earlier photos I was concerned a bit about the bezel teeth being too sharp and maybe being rough on a wet suit, but this is not the case. The bezel has a very solid feel with plenty of grip for neoprene gloves, but not so much as to rough up anything.
Really getting an appreciation for the 10 o'clock crown too. Just a very logical spot to both protect the crown and your wrist.
Re: ARES Watch Company
Definitely agree on the size - first thing I texted to Matt - looks big in pictures, but wears perfect. I’m over big watches (at least for now lol).

For those following along at home Paul is wearing an ARES that doesn’t exist, while some members of his former team are putting the D-1 through it’s paces.
The ARES that Paul has is scheduled to be shown and talked about in just under a year from now. 🤫

I loved the crown position on the U1P although I kept putting it on upside down.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 6:16 pm24 hours in on wear and I can confirm this case is fine on average sized (just under 7 inch) wrists.

Yes, I solved that issue by simply not taking the watch off.dnslater wrote: ↑Sun Nov 11, 2018 4:17 amI loved the crown position on the U1P although I kept putting it on upside down.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 6:16 pm24 hours in on wear and I can confirm this case is fine on average sized (just under 7 inch) wrists.

As a Seiko enthusiast (and all of their 4 o’clock crowns) I do get the “upside down” watch visual though. It really does work well in practice.
If Matt ever decided to make this case in Ti, it would absolutely disappear on the wrist.
Re: ARES Watch Company
I’ve done that myself a few times.dnslater wrote:I loved the crown position on the U1P although I kept putting it on upside down.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 6:16 pm24 hours in on wear and I can confirm this case is fine on average sized (just under 7 inch) wrists.
