$1,250 Sweet god....
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
seems steep for sure.
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
I see a little bit of Bremont lugs from the side profile
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
I still can’t get past the name.
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
Very average looking.... design that doesn't make me look twice at it.
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
I still can’t get over the fact that the Navy exchange in Hawaii (the largest in the world) has a 15 foot banner over the Shinola watch display case that says MADE IN THE USA with a big American flag... I thought they were told to cease and desist?

I like the black one with bracelet, just a really nice dial. But there business practices will keep me away with the whole made in America thing.

They buy the movement in pieces and assemble it in Detroit. It sounds like a "make work" project. Well, at least this "make work" project is in the private sector.
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
Meh...Hate the name--makes me think of "The Jerk"....what the movement?
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
Interesting.
They're also sold alongside Oris at two of my local Rolex ADs so they're doing something right in terms of marketing. Maybe I'll ask if they sell any of them on my many attempts to find a 214270 in the flesh, as the guy is a watch geek. I would never consider one. The brand is dubious, overpriced, and does nothing for me aesthetically.
For the record, my family sells jewelry at the Pearl Harbor Memorial gift shop with a standing order. Not PX/BX but Japanese-American made. Can't say the same for Shinola and I don't think they're in it to ever achieve that status.
Re: New Shinola Monster Automatic Diver
not bad, but like others have said, nothing special about them. and nothing $1200 about them (other than their marketing, which i find deceiving as well).

Maybe it’s just the photos, but that does not look like the finishing of a $1200 watch.

Not 1200 imo. But I do like the direction they are going in.
