Paulson's Pearl Diver

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Sep 05, 2018 10:43 am

Just learning about this new watch company called Paulson today. Did you guys
happen to check them out?

Their first watch, the Pearl Diver is getting ready to launch on Indiegogo this
October. With details like a Grade 5 titanium case, 100m WR, an AR coated
sapphire crystal, unidirectional ceramic rotating bezel with lume, blue sunray
dial with eye-catching Super-Luminova coated hands, and markers, nice straps,
and Miyota 9015 movement.

Just a few pictures...

leave off all the oversized text (i guess they couldn't make the logo any bigger w/o hitting the 1 and 11 markers) and it's not bad. nothing special, but not bad.

is it me or does that "brushed" finish look very coarse? it may just be grainy photos.

Yeah, at first glance it was generally decent looking, but that serif font doesn’t work and the hands are a little stubby.

Custom font was a 6-dollar upcharge per watch.

Actually, it's only 100m water resistant. And the hands are too short.

Thanks for pointing it out though, Tom. I'm always amazed that you find so many new watches.

Oh wow, how did I miss that Mike ?! Must have been wishful thinking. It 's fixed
now above, so thanks so much !

By the way, the hands really are looking kind of short now to be 100% honest.

Thank YOU, and everyone for telling it like it is !!! :salute:

Also Greg, was wondering about the look of the finish also ! ..Couldn't tell if there
was something with the pictures like you said, or it was an effect with the pics.

Cool video by the way also there Chris ! 8-)

Welcome to the forum. The longer hands look nice. Problem we all had with the text wasn't the size, but the font. The Serif font just doesn't work on a dive watch face. Fine for your brand name/logo but the other text would look better in a cleaner font. Maybe a little color too.

Much better! And I think the dial color, crown, and bezel inlay look pretty good.

They should hire you Nick!

I'm wearing the PO and you're correct, the font is sans serif for all the text on the dial.
