New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Looks great, maybe minus the logo
And a 40mm size for those who say 45 is too big

Love the size and color...but definitely not the logo.

I like it, even the logo. Better than the poke ball at least. I don’t like the lack of gold surrounds.

I like it and could even get used to the logo. Brushed case is a big plus. I wish they would just make a non LE < 45mm.

The 40mm series 1-3 LEs are the best watches that BP has ever made. I’m not sure why they can’t release something similar as a regular watch.
With that said, the 45mm version is remarkably small. I was shocked when I tried it on. It wasn’t much larger than a 42mm po2500.
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Very true as it was said before by many people it wears nothing like 45mmJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 6:56 amThe 40mm series 1-3 LEs are the best watches that BP has ever made. I’m not sure why they can’t release something similar as a regular watch.

Also these LEs are priced very well. Only about 1K more than STD BPFF. So with a discount it's relatively similar price. Unlike some other LE's that are priced thousands more
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
The “Ocean Commitment” text above the logo being off kilter seems a little odd. Based on the metal color, I thought it was Ti at first, but saw in the text it’s brushed SS. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Agreed. I've tried one on at least a dozen times and while it would work "fine", for that kind of $$$ it's got to fit perfect for me. The original 40mm LE's you allude to are indeed excellent and a similar non LE version would appeal to a large class of people with more average wrists (probably a 41 or 42mm would be perfect for me).JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 6:56 amThe 40mm series 1-3 LEs are the best watches that BP has ever made. And Art, I agree, at least they are not price gouging for the LE's.
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Looks good, but I tried on Mark’s 40mm pokeball version and it’s tiny. Way to small for me. The 45mm version is where it should be for most people.

Just like son wearing dad’s watch.
It’s cool though. They’re stupid watches, not international diplomacy.

That logo is terrible.
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Very interesting, but not a fan of that logo. I actually have Mark's poke ball one coming in later today as I have been wanting something smaller with the AP Diver and three larger BPs in hand (two 45mm Sports and the 43mm BP Bathy). I owned the trilogy version years ago (which is the same case) so I know it will wear small, but that is part of the allure for me.

nice watch, logo sucks, shoulda been on the caseback

Poke ball is here. A couple more pics in the WRUW thread, but a quick wrist shot. Will take some comparisons with the other BPs and Subs, etc... this weekend. Given that I wear the Pateks, DaytonaC and SubCs to work 95% of the time and love my two Doxa 300s for ease of wear and comfort, the size works for me -- especially since when I want to go big I have 3 larger BPs, the AP Diver and the Sinn U1 Pro.
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
Funny that I hadn't notice the "Ocean Commitment" being lop sided on the logo until it was mentioned above, and now I can't not see it.
Seeing the logo on the web page suggests it was an intentional design decision. Just odd looking to my eye.

The Mil-spec is ok at 40mm...It would be better at 42mm.
The satin finish is the best thing about the Ocean Commitment...not really into the logo. Better would have been an inscription on the caseback or something equally as nonintrusive.

Love my Poke ball. How ever this would make a nice addition

It would look perfect for you. It's practically made for wrists under 6.5 "
Re: New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition
I like it; the logo looked better in the video than in the straight on shots.

Wait, when did $17k become "priced very well?"Panerai7 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 7:01 amVery true as it was said before by many people it wears nothing like 45mmJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 6:56 amThe 40mm series 1-3 LEs are the best watches that BP has ever made. Love this one in size and execution, but FFS, seventeen thousand dollars? When will they just release this case size in the non-LE collection already?
