Birth year Omega Seamaster incoming
Birth year Omega Seamaster incoming
Well been on the hunt for a birth year watch I all ways put it off the longer I put it off the more expensive they get being old like me. Well I picked up this Omega Seamaster automatic CAL. 501 full set with papers. It's 34mm and 40mm lug to lug with 18mm lug size.
Cool two tone dial
Great shape for it's age and cool it has a Omega buckle on the strap. Should get it in a few weeks it's coming from Germany. It was sold 21 days before I was born can't get better than that for a birth year watch.

Dude, I love how you really know what you want. I tend to be more like all the flippers around here, but I'm usually to lazy to follow up with the selling part.
Congrats on a great find! I have a saved search on watchrecon with my birth year. Still waiting for the right thing to show up...

Hahaha I just did the same thing. I really like the idea of a birth year watch from a cool company.gonzomantis wrote:Dude, I love how you really know what you want. I tend to be more like all the flippers around here, but I'm usually to lazy to follow up with the selling part.

Very nice Seamaster. Vintage Seikos are great if you're looking for a birth year watch. The serial numbers indicate not only the year the watch was made, but also the month. I've owned several from my birth year/month, including a first series (4/65) 62 MAS. Still have a Sportsmatic with original band and buckle.

Mission accomplished.
Re: Birth year Omega Seamaster incoming
Was a little worried it had a repainted dial could not see Swiss Made under the 6. The seller sent a better photo so correct and legit.
The crown could be a replacement from a Omega Constellation but period correct. I can live with the crown did get 200 off the asking price. Just glad the dial legit. I learned a lot after the fact on this one. Still a great watch and looks in great shape.

nice find, Mike! those 501 movements are some of the best Omega ever built! I used to have a bunch of nice old Seamasters and Connies when I started collecting in the good old days...
congrats on a super pick-up!

Congrats.
For '58 at least you have a lot more options you don't have to sell your soul or compromise over.
'81 is a hard target because everyone was into the quartz craze. Find me an '81 moonwatch, please! You're either stuck trying to find the perfect Seiko (which isn't a bad thing but they move quick) or a $9000/12000 Snowflake/16750.
I tend to my wife's early '60s constellation in NOS condition, and I intend to keep it that way. They're good fun and classics.

Check the issue date came close to buying a Omega RAF with the same case as the 53 with a 58 issue date a few years ago but is rare and did not want to pay the price more than the 53. But there are a few more mechanical issued watches around your birth date more than mine.

Thanks Matt. I remember that one I think was your Grandfathers if I remember right it had the BOR bracelet and it was pretty nice still got it ? You should wear it once in a while. Well my Omega in Montana now in Billing MT only 3 hours away but with the snail pace of the USPS in MT I should get it tomorrow.
Re: Birth year Omega Seamaster incoming

What's cool is the dial at another forum some one pointed it out to me. The two tone dial depending on angle and light changes color you can see it in the photo's I took.
