I didn't collab anything with them. But I did mess up and show them one of my straps at Wind Up. So maybe that is where they got the idea from.

That's shitty. If C&B stole it, they can go fuck themselves.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:27 pmI didn't collab anything with them. But I did mess up and show them one of my straps at Wind Up. So maybe that is where they got the idea from.

Re: Toxic
Honestly I do believe there is a ton of overlap in the watch strap business. So I have no idea if they did. But they did know that I carried them (since I showed them). So it is weird that few a months later they came out with the exact same nylon and hardware (except the buckle). I showed the jungle green strap at Wind up. But they did tell me "all watch strap companies stick together" .Heuerville wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:00 pmThat's shitty. Looks like they call them their Supreme Nato. They jumped on your bandwagon, which is Shitty imo.

Toxic "homage"?
Dude WTF
Not ok. C&B sucks.
And yes your buckle is so nice that I’ve used it on other straps. Really.

I have seen other strap sellers market rally straps with almost identical photo set-ups as I have used.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:21 pmBut they did tell me "all watch strap companies stick together" .Heuerville wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:00 pmThat's shitty. Re: Toxic
Well I definitely didn't design them, like the work you and Art do. So I can't say that. But it does hit a little close to home.Heuerville wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:56 pmI have seen other strap sellers market rally straps with almost identical photo set-ups as I have used.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:21 pmBut they did tell me "all watch strap companies stick together" .Heuerville wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:00 pmThat's shitty. But I can say this, I will try my best to bet them out in other ways. I don't take ToxicNATOs lightly.

Word needs to spread. This is uncool.
Re: Toxic "homage"?
Agreed. This is a pretty low thing to do.
I'll vote with my wallet and order another Toxic today just to spite C&B. F- them.
Order placed.
PS - Terry - the discount code offered in the email sent Monday, March 19, isn't working. No big deal as I was able to use the standard offered discount in the pop-up window. Just an FYI.

Re: Toxic
What's your wholesale cost (don't answer that in public)? If it's not too high, offer to exchange a ToxicNATO to anyone who buys one of these. You could run a viral campaign of "you might as well have the original".toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:00 pmWell I definitely didn't design them, like the work you and Art do. Chris when did you try the code? I had this issue a few days ago but I thought I fixed it. At least I hope I did.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 6:45 amAgreed. This is a pretty low thing to do.

Re: Toxic
Great idea. Honestly if my wholesale cost was lower than it really is then I would have a lot lower price. This strap is super high at wholesale for a small shop like mine. But I might do a trade in program for a large discount. I am not sure.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 9:01 amWhat's your wholesale cost (don't answer that in public)? Good news is your base price is lower and you have free shipping, where they charge for that too. Sucks they ripped you off. I called them out on IG but I expect they will delete the post.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:02 pmGreat idea. I tried cutting and pasting directly from the email plus a bunch of permutations - upper case, lower case, with the hyphens and without.

Re: Toxic "homage"?
That is bad form but not uncommon in the watch industry unfortunately.
Public opinion will win everytime and if people spread the word around the forums it will raise awareness and also drive some business to Terrys site.

Re: Toxic "homage"?
I saw on their IG post today that for those who don't like the extra thickness, they are offering to let you request to neuter the strap upon ordering..
That sounds familiar...
They saw imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...
BTW Terry, I woke up after the last get together with an Orange rubber stuck in my Watch box and a vague recollection of you whispering something in my ear.....Thanks!
