First of all, Omega...

I honestly think the Tudor BB GMT is the homerun of Basel so far. Especially with the way 5 digit GMT prices have been going in the past five years (I should have bought one back when they could be had for under $5,000). Demand for the Tudor should be high among the five digit crowd and those who can't afford the a Rolex GMT (new or old). I probably won't be able to swing the Tudor in the near future, but it's definitely on my radar screen.

That said, Tudor may have also produced the worst watch of Basel this year with the 1926 model. It looks terrible. The new BB steel and gold models with the gold dial are nothing to write home about, either.

One other thing I've noticed about the new Tudors with the optional fabric strap - I'm not sure Tudor will be including them as an "extra" with the watches anymore. Take a look at the new listings on their website. They seem to indicate the fabric strap as a separate option rather than something that comes as an extra. Could just be a copy error.

Personally, I was hoping for a slimmed down Tudor Ranger with a date, but alas...

You would either be waiting 7 years, or paying $20,000 to some forum dealer - you made the right choice.
I'm really curious to see what these will be going for. I imagine it will be above retail for quite some time unless you're lucky enough to get one from an AD.
It's going to be a hot one, I think. Especially if stock stays like it has been. People are waiting for ND Subs. This thing is going to be insanse.

Ugh. Starting to regret my recent 16710 purchase. Having said that, I’d like the Oyster bracelet better on this one.

Good point. I was in Vegas last week - neither Tourneau or Rolex at Caesar’s had any Subs, SDs, GMTs, DSSDs - basically any steel sport watches. Rolex says they can’t get any. In Vegas.

DSW has BNIB ND Subs listed at $8k for god's sake. It's getting even more ridiculous.

You can always (1) enjoy a great watch, and (2) ride the ever-increasing values while waiting on one of these.

I almost totally love it. The chronometer text is too big, but I can live with it.

Meh, you know that's a blown up shot, on the wrist it disappears especially in that color of the font.

I can't recall the last time I was this excited about an attainable watch. The 36mm version with a plain bezel is now available in blue, which looks very nice. Too bad it has the stupid crown.

I think the first few of these are going to be right around $20,000. If I had to be, I think $19,500 is the number. They're pretty expensive at MSRP (over $9,000), so I think they're going to be hard to get under $15,000 for a long time.

This is a rich man's hobby.

Yep, leave it to our "trusted" TRF dealers  MSRP of something like 9250 will be 15K for sure

Maybe it was just a bad example, but the PM Pepsi GMT I tried on once was a bizarre pastel lavender and pink in the ADs lighting. Didn’t care for it, personally.

There were absolutely bad batches of the bezels on the WG versions. They were ugly pink, rather than red. I haven't seen a new production one (e.g., not sitting around in a case for years) that looks like that for a while.

I’m with Andrew.

While the Tudor BB39 is a winner, it’s too small for me.

The BB GMT is nice, but probably too thick & slab slided like the regular BB.

I love the new white dial Oyster Perpetual with 3132 movement, but too small on me.

Sinn didn’t excite me this time.

The Zenith blue dial might work.

Overall, meh.

The crown is less weirdly shaped too. It looks like a normal crown rather than a weird gear floating on the side of the case.

I think they should have renamed it Blahselworld. Nothing of interest for me this year.

(I think JP is finally rubbing off on me Image )
Rolex needs to start Awesomeworld
I wish I shared your excitement over Rolex, but I'm just not into the brand. Too ubiquitous and too many games need to be played to buy one.
I gotta admit, this morning has completely restructured my entire year and probably even beyond.
I'm so glad I didn't settle for a too-big BB just because they're cheap. I hope Tudor gets them out quickly. I'd like to buy one for the summer.

New job, new house, new watch(es).
I'm sure they'll be available, luckily Tudor is still a WIS watch not a rich couple strolling through a mall buying each other gifts watch
I may pick up the Tudor GMT BB once the dust settles and they'll be under 3K with discount from AD. It'll sing on straps Image
Love what Tudor is doing, but it's absolutely a "stroll through the mall" type of watch, at least from what I've seen. More young folks in my area want Tudor than other established brands. Price is one factor, I'm sure. But style and marketing are a big part of it. It's definitely not just a WIS brand anymore.
