Basel Releases 2018
Re: Basel Releases 2018
The Pepsi doesn’t excite me like it doesn’t some. It’s ok, but I won’t buy.

So on the Rolex site they are showing the white gold Pepsi is still there but now with a dark blue dial:

Also a new platinum Daytona with a different ice blue dial (older one is still there as well). Looks like they are not advertising some of these other changes yet.

This is Rolex we’re talking about. It can’t be that simple.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:42 amIM more excited for the bracelet. It should retrofit to the five digit model.
Re: Basel Releases 2018
And on the second page of Daytona the new WG ones with Oysterflex from last year all now have bracelet versions.
Edit: check that, WG with steel bezel.

You can fit a solid oyster to a 16610. You can fit the 1.8mm super jubilee to a 16710. I'd be shocked if this one didn't work as well.TSD wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:51 amThis is Rolex we’re talking about. GETTING it is the problem, not fit.

Not sure about that one. Looks nice, but the historical inaccuracy bugs me. At least it doesn't have waves in the dial that look like they were made by a junky with a safety pin.RALAustin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:46 amSo on the Rolex site they are showing the white gold Pepsi is still there but now with a dark blue dial:

Re: Basel Releases 2018
The good news that I'll probably never wear it on a bracelet, so it could come on a broccoli wad for all I care. But just out of curiosity will the SubC's bracelet fit right up?
And yes I'm sitting here at work and drooling

I'm not sure if the Sub bracelet would fit. I suspect so though. If you get one and want to part your bracelet, you know where to send it.
Does anyone know if the DSSD changed at all?

Re: Basel Releases 2018
Someone on one of the other forums mentioned something about the old James Cameron version becoming more collectible due to some change. I'm not sure if it was BS. I looked on the website and didn't see anything obviously different.Panerai7 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:01 amI'll definitely keep you posted.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 6:57 amI'm not sure if the Sub bracelet would fit. Also, the craptastic hidden jubilee clasp on the 36mm DJ has been replaced.
Rolex wins this year.
Re: Basel Releases 2018
Hopefully it's the effect of display lights. Most bold colors look wierd in those lights

Wider bracelet, redesigned lugs, 3235 movement for the DSSD.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:08 amSomeone on one of the other forums mentioned something about the old James Cameron version becoming more collectible due to some change. Re: Basel Releases 2018
I was hoping to see something new and different, but it seems that most watch manufacturers are content to make incremental updates to or release additional variations of existing models. Disappointed. I don't see anything in these Basel threads that compels me to open my wallet.
