Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
At least the date wheel matches the case. Nice of them not to cheap out and go with a blue one.
Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
Why can’t IWC match the crown to the case?

Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
Hopefully that’s just a rendering error. Looks good otherwise. Not Explorer 1 good but decent.

Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
I doubt it. They usually use steel or titanium crowns on black watches.

New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
It’s a ceramic case like Miramar, probably has a Ti crown like caseback. They don’t have black crowns

Looks really nice. Will have to check it out if it ever makes to AD.

I love that model. The ceramic works well with the blue dial too

Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
Yeah I remember, that's right.
Wish the crown was matching but I don't think IWC knows how to machine ceramic and for a baked-on-frame solution the crown would be really easy to crack and chip. Just a guess

DLC coated steel would be fine.Panerai7 wrote:Yeah I remember, that's right.

True I didn't think of that.

That one is bigger and blacker.

Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
Black is slimming. Oh, and it will wear even smaller too.
Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
I like it.
Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
Wait, is sub-6000 bucks for ceramic cheap? That seems... low for IWC.
Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
More of the same but this one isn't bad...
Re: New IWC MK XVIII Laureus
I agree and am glad that ceramic case did not equal several thousands more in price over the SS model. Not a bad way to dabble in a ceramic case from a major manufacturer.

I can't blame iwc for going with numerous versions of a proven seller. Tudor has been doing this for years with seemingly good success.

I still find it curious that Jason with Halios can match his date wheel to his dial, but major manufacturer's of higher end watches cannot.
