Anyone sell on chrono24 versus eBay?

Post by ericf4 » Sun Feb 11, 2018 10:48 am

Looks like 2.85% fee on sales. Max of $299. Have any of you guys sold there?

Btw love how their app let's you log your watches and measure your value of each and the collection based on sales stats from Chrono 24.

Haven’t dealt through them, but I did a lot of research on them for a potential job opportunity that I was considering applying to a while back. It seems like they have a pretty solid model going on. If I had a watch to sell and wanted an international audience, I’d def consider them.

I also hear they specialize in Clerc ;).

Lol good to know. It seems that very typically the prices on there are very inflated but then sometimes you'll find someone who's actually at the real going pre-owned price.

There’s a local gray dealer here in S. Florida I met through his posting sales on Chrono24. I can connect you if you wanna ask his impressions.

Thx. I don't wanna take up his or your time. I'm just thinking of selling a few and thought I might try there. I wonder how they handle funding, check out and buyer and seller protection. I'll read the site a bit more first.

Looks as if you pay the 2.85% up front and then if you don't sell within 6 months they refund you. I'm not a fan of that at all.

All I know there as bad as ebay selling fake watches and it's been reported and still there a good place to sell a fake and get away with it. I would be scared to buy a watch at chrono24 and get stuck with a fake I thought they were better than that.

Tell tell signs for a fake military issued Omega date window they were all none date and the stubbies minute marks on dial

Never bought anything from them before. Their prices are usually just like Govberg which is completely out of touch with reality.
Good tip on Sinn though, need to check it out.

You can find Sinn on there at German MSRP - VAT if you look hard.

Eric - I think private sellers are disadvantaged on that platform. I always disregard them when I'm looking. Too many scammers.
