Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
He makes a very nice looking watch, but this is just another reason I will not do preorders. If you want my money it better be in stock before I pay. I realize this is hard for most micro brands, but there are too many other watches to try, so why put up with the drama.
Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
I agree re preorders and generally don’t do them, but in this case it might actually help him if he did a preorder model. He specifically waits to open orders until delivery is imminent in order to not make people wait too long. It limits the available supply to what he forecast as opposed to simply ordering enough from his suppliers to get one to everyone that wants a watch.59yukon01 wrote:He makes a very nice looking watch, but this is just another reason I will not do preorders. Definitely very many people with nothing real to worry about. It's a watch. Get over it.

I wonder how many people going ape sh*t over this watch will still own it 6 months from now. Despite the initial frenzy, these micros don't seem to stick.

Jason is good people. This said, he appears to be at a crossroad; does he scale back and/or try a different sales model, or go the way of MKII (building nice watches but having a screwed up company operation.
I’m confident he will find the correct choice.

Honestly, it's hard to take this shit seriously. I'm teaching this semester and out of 80 students one had a brother die last week, and another just had a dad diagnosed with some serious cancer. Tons of people deal with serious problems all the time, and these guys are crying about someone getting an $800 watch before them. It's one big eye roll.logan2z wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 4:51 pm+1JP Chestnut wrote:Definitely very many people with nothing real to worry about. It's a watch. Get over it.

Two of my friends lost their wives to cancer in the past year. Both have two kids, 8 and 5.

they were all planning on buying three, selling two on the secondary market for $1k and getting a free watch.

Saw this on WUS (posted by Jlawjj), looks pretty small in comparison to the Sub.

Could be a depth issue. The Sub is probably closer to the camera since it's thicker plus sitting on its clasp.

I sent him a pm on ig with some recommendations for his site and I offered to help him. Shopify is the way to go. Wordpress can't handle that load.

Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
While this was a big screwup, just like everything else, people will calm down.
It’s a watch after all and when he gets the site back up, people will be able to order and all will be fine.
While there was a lot of bitching, and a few idiots (like the guy who took the day off of work), it won’t hurt his business.
He’s in a stage where demand for his product is high and he had an issue with his web store. I’m sure he is more upset than everyone else and is dealing with it all this weekend.
I think everyone needs to calm down.

What Don said. I ain’t got time for whining. My two boys have basketball games today and then later we will start designing and hopefully finish building their cub scouts pinewood derby cars. Going for first place this year, .

The Seaforth wears a tad small but not as small as the photo suggests next to the Rolex. It’s only because the Rolex is on a bracelet and sitting higher than the Halios.
