Post them on Ebay with BIN price equal to MSRP plus fees. This isn't a hard problem to solve.

my son, the street wear fan, says it's a common hack with places like supreme, 30 sales from the same buyer in less than a minute but they solved it and ecommerce continues. unfortunately jason is facing the same situation.

Weird, I was just able to add one to my cart, went through the check-out process, and it bounced me back out saying my cart was empty after I clicked "submit". I thought I got really lucky.

Shit happens. It's a micro brand watch, not the cure for cancer.

If my order actually goes through, I figure this is as close to a guarantee to not lose money on the flip as you'll ever see and I wouldn't mind checking one out. I did get an email confirmation from both Halios and PayPal, so we will see.

Why even bother with a limited run this go around. just take all the orders first and submit the work order to the factory afterwards. That would make EVERYONE happy. It's quite obvious the MOQ's will be met. So I don't understand why make it more complicated than it should be?
Good question.

Just went to check the site and found this message:

Site closed for maintenance. Seaforth and Puck orders will be up soon. Please check back on January 22, 2018 for an update!

Maybe that means, keeping checking and if it is up order. Though the masses will announce what they ordered on IG and it will go down again. Those people wouldn't last a day at DWC.

halioswatches: An Official Statement, and in no way an attempt at defensiveness, only a sequence of events. I stated that orders were closed, and they were. To test the cart and site, we had to open up the connectivity because it is a cloud-hosted cart (it will not connect on a local host). This was done in 2 minute intervals over the course of about 10 minutes. In that time, I guess folks were sitting on the site and refreshing the page, so some orders managed to make it through. Make it what you will guys, but I agree with the angry ones: it may be time to move on entirely from the brand if this process has been too painful. But if you're sticking it out, here's the plan from now til the 22nd: test the viability of this current platform while simultaneously testing another (Shopify).

Put the shit on Amazon. Not ideal, but it's a stop gap.

At this point, that's what I would do. Amazon or eBay.

I would also manufacture more Seaforth's in order to make money for a better website. If demand is so high, he's leaving a lot of money on the table.

I can’t imagine Jason wanting to add 10% to his prices just to cover ebay fees.

However, by the looks of things, most people seem willing to pay that surcharge.

i think jason really needs to think about what he wants to do with his brand. you can only go thru this so much before you turn off too many people.

is he going to grow with the demand to sell more volume? hard to do that if he doesn't add some more manpower. not just to get the sales through but to do support and help manage QC.

or is he going to raise the price to bring demand closer to supply? a lot of people will bitch about that, too.

really, he's in between those two things right now and it's going to take a toll.

I agree. I'm probably one of the type of guys Halios wants to attract. I've not tried a Halios product before, but the (ETA) Seaforth was a model that I would've liked to try.

The way this ordering process seems to be (not) working, however, has turned me from being a potential buyer into a casual observer. I'll watch the chaos, but not participate

I'm not going to work my day around a 5 second window to try to order a watch just like I'm not going to hunt down a Vertex owner in order to get a referral code.

In one way, though, kudos to Jason for achieving naturally what Vertex is attempting to create for their brand.

So much speculation and vitriol on the IG thread about whether he will honor the orders that went through or not. It’d be cool if I get one, but seriously not the end of the world if not.

Some people take this shit way too personally. Unfortunately the sense of entitlement isn’t surprising.

Couldn't agree more. Well that, and the fact that I would never wear the watch. But that pastel blue sure would look nice sitting in the watch box.

"Customer Service" seems to be an oxymoron here. Thought about buying one and just said fuck it.

Funny how you can purchase a micro from HK (hassle free) and have it in your hands two days later.
