Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
The Apple watch was great.
They are very serious about watchmaking, but have a great sense of humour.
If I was balling I would definitely rock a Red gold fume dial. Amazing

Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
^^^ That date window absolutely spoils that watch. Yuck.
Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
That is the "big date" for blind old men I presume. They have similar models without it fortunately.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2018 5:09 pm^^^ That date window absolutely spoils that watch. Yuck.
It's all academic to me, mainly because I am poor.

No kidding their watches are amazing. I actually like oversized date. The big date video they came up with is funny.mfxr wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2018 5:15 pmThat is the "big date" for blind old men I presume. Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
It looks like a kickstarter watch...
Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
It's pretty shitty of them, but I fukkin' love it. Rich trolls are the best trolls.
Plus, they're only making one, and whomever buys into the joke will essentially be putting their money straight into charity, so I'd call it a win for the rest of us.

Looks like they got cold feet and it is being withdrawn from the auction and locked away.

Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
The article says the watch was misinterpreted. I don't see how that's possible given their advertising campaign. The industry backlash must've been more than they could stomach.Dynamite_Kid19 wrote:Looks like they got cold feet and it is being withdrawn from the auction and locked away.

Yeah, I'm guessing lots of legal challenge (or at least threats of it).streetracer101 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 8:04 amThe article says the watch was misinterpreted. Some day this could be considered an artsy pop culture masterpiece.
It's always the weirdest things that somehow wind up desirable.
I still don't understand why a painting of a Campbell's soup can is so amazing.

This is a trolling master class.
Re: Wtf Moser Frankenwatch
Moser is being a little naive in their shitting on the fluff in the watch industry. Whether they like it or not, the entire luxury watch industry (including their own brand) is built on said fluff. Are we supposed to believe that watches are irreplaceable tools these days? That the price tag is justified by the innovation alone?
For all that I love about innovation in horology, we all are keenly aware that it is for fun. To some, it's admiration of ability and accomplishment, but to a large portion of the overall luxury watch customer base, the "fun" comes from prestige and status and the ethereal quality of "that guy I look up to has one, and now I want to as well".
Strip it all away, and the entire industry becomes obsolete.

They have been able to carve out a niche in said defecation.
