*** Tapatalk Plugin Upgrade ***
There have been some recent updates to the Tapatalk plugin and I'm planning on installing the updates tonight at 10pm PT. I'm hoping that the new updates solve some of the ongoing issues we've been having, such as multiple posts
I'll need to take the forum offline in order to install the update. It should only be down for about 15 minutes or so. I'll post a reminder before I pull the plug.

Great news! Every time I post I have to hit cancel to avoid duplicates. Even still a few sneak through.

No guarantee that the update will fix the duplicate posts issue. They said that the update they put out in March was supposed to fix it But I'm hopeful.nweash wrote:Great news! Every time I post I have to hit cancel to avoid duplicates. Even still a few sneak through.

OK, Tapatalk is up and running again. Let me know if you run into any issues when accessing the forum via the app.

Thank you my dude!
Re: *** Tapatalk Plugin Upgrade ***
FWIW, that “testing for DP” post did the typical “hanging” behavior and I was sure it would DP. This may have been the fix.

Double posts are back. What I don't get is that the posting behavior doesn't always "hang" like Hop mentioned - sometimes it posts right away. Not sure what dictates whether it'll double post or not. Not sure what, if anything, could finally fix the issue. More than anything, I'm confused as to why this is the only forum this happens on

I only have it happen on dwc via Tapatalk not other sites.

DWC may be the only forum you visit that it happens on but it happens on other forums as well. There have been complaints on the Tapatalk support forums about it. For example,r.palace wrote:Double posts are back. What I don't get is that the posting behavior doesn't always "hang" like Hop mentioned - sometimes it posts right away. If you search Google for 'Tapatalk double posts' you'll find lots of threads on the subject.
The problem only seems to affect newer versions of the forum software in combination with certain versions of the app - specifically iOS versions. So if you visit a forum running an old version of the forum software you may not experience this problem. I run the Android version of the app and have never once had a double post. The people who have this issue on DWC all seem to run the iOS version. If you run the iOS version and haven't done so recently, you may want to upgrade the app and see if that helps.
Unfortunately Tapatalk is free software that comes with very minimal support. It is buggy and the development team seems to favor new feature development over stabilizing the platform. We keep the plugin active at DWC because a lot of people like to access the forum from their mobile devices, but we don't have any control over the quality of the releases or the support of the product.
I'll continue to update the plugin at DWC as new releases are made available and hopefully this issue will be fixed at some point.
Re: *** Tapatalk Plugin Upgrade ***
Thanks for the info, Andrew. You're doing a fine job. Even with all the defects, I rather keep the tapatalk plugin.

Still like TAT better versus using a browser.

That seems to be the consensus.ericf4 wrote:Still like TAT better versus using a browser.

Re: *** Tapatalk Plugin Upgrade ***
this drives me nuts, since i don't give a crap about any of their new "features" and they've revamped the main interface at least a couple of times in what felt like arbitrary ways.the development team seems to favor new feature development over stabilizing the platform
