Finally found a good deal on the blue/grey SRPB49 and couldn't pass it up. Really was considering the Shogun, but I've never had too much luck with the 6R15 and the Shogun does come in at twice the price. The blue/grey combo just looks excellent to me.

$304 on EBay. Free shipping. Not sure if that's a deal, but it didn't seem too bad

eBay for me too. It was the only place I could find it for a reasonable price.

How do the samurais wear compared to the NAFTs?

It has been a few years since I owned one, but I think the Samurai wears a little smaller.

That's what I'm hoping. The ebay prices are very tempting.

Love everything about it except... that stubby hour hand. Can't warm up to it.

Definitely wears smaller than the NAFT. Better line though, in my opinion.

Nice, thanks for the comparo shots. That's exactly the one I would pick up.

You got it. I like them both but the finishing and dial of the samurai is better in my opinion. Same soft rubber strap that the SRPs come with. The bezel action isn't as crisp as the SRP, it's more sticky/slow. I like it.

Liking this one more than I thought I would. The dial is awesome. I didn't think I would bother using the bracelet. It looks like the links themselves are too rounded for them to flow well with the end links but the bracelet feels well made with the typical Seiko dive clasp.

They actually have the 4R35. I get your point though as only one of my four 6R15's had acceptable time keeping. Way too erratic otherwise.

Introducing the latest #SeikoDiver to join the #Prospex family. The new #SRPB97 is equipped with the historic hand-set and angular case details adored by Seiko enthusiasts worldwide, and updated with a vivid orange dial. #OrangeSamurai Available exclusively in the USA on @amazon.

The biggest surprise for me is that Amazon is involved.

I ordered one. I’m glad they didn’t screw it up. The only thing I may have changed is the bezel. All black may have been a better choice.

I remember Amazon being the sole distributor (Amazon exclusive) for the Orient Mako in Yellow. It sold out quick and made it the most collectible dial variant.
