Jason uses Instagram a lot. Set up an alert so you will get notified every time he posts. He doesn't post so often that it would be annoying.

I think that's a legit complaint. It should be fairly easy for him to have a listserv email that people can subscribe to and he can send out an email with release dates/times I advance.

Chris is correct that he interacts with his customers a lot on IG, particularly more in the last year or so, and I've found a lot more info there. And other that right now when he's been in production mode, he's always need good about responding to Qs there.

I thought I'd post this here too.
Someone asked me if I could compare profiles of all three bezel versions on WUS since I owned them all.
Ok so I unpacked the gilt sapphire one to take these for you so you can compare Image
I apologize for the poor quality cell photos But I hope it helps a bit

From top to bottom :
Fixed bezel gilt. My favorite profile with the dome being most prominent

Blue dive bezel a great compromise, dome looks good and utility of a bezel for those who need that. Bezel is thin enough.

Sapphire gilt which the thickest bezel at the edge and takes away from the profile view imho and minimizes the bezel

Thanks B. Does the fixed bezel appear to wear larger than the other two?

No pb.
I'd say it wears like the dive bezel of course smaller than the the sapphire one as the black bezel provides continuity of color with the dial making a larger black circle/surface area. But it's all perspective

I'm talking about automation. It would be a total PITA to have to email people personally. Just a little "enter email here for notification when it comes in stock" on this page:
http://halioswatches.com/seaforth/
I would have been fine with that. Unfortunately, it wasn't an option.

meh. $825? once you figure ebay fees and the VAT the seller probably paid in GB, they could even be losing money. it was $740 shipped to the UK.

Andrea the euro is the only one who doesn't like the business model! lol just kidding.
I was frustrated because I didn't know when he was doing what. Yeah I want an email notification, as I'm not too active on IG and I don't have FB.

And Brice- I had no clue the gilt bezel was thicker.. why is it? I didn't know they are a different construction.

The bezel is thicker and lacks the incline to accommodate the sapphire insert.

I'm with BBK. I don't Facebook or IG, so I was in the dark about when these things were going to market. I sent him an email a few months asking about it and he said he'd put me on an email list so I would get a heads up. That didn't happen.

A total First World problem but . . . well, I was interested and missed out.

If I had one to sell I agree now would be the time to sell. High demand and second run sold out in a flash. Good press and one of the best damn dive watch offerings for under a grand. Value will slowly recede once a third run is announced.

I'm happy with my Tropik, but if I'd had the liquid cash I would have bought one if only to see if I loved it enough to keep or offer to a member who missed out.

I'd add a black or blue dial to my mix in a heartbeat.

A white dial with the black outline markers (as on the pastel blue) would be stellar. Bonus points for no-date.

I would buy two.

A sapphire bezel version was on watchrecon for $800 and sold in a flash. Someone should just list one for $1000. These are selling very fast.

Jason can offer a great product for about $700. I know he is established but what does this say about the clowns who offer half baked products for $2500?

Like who?
It's a real question, aside from maybe monta (who got and will continue to get a tough reality check), it seems most micros are in the $250-$500 range.

Even Yao offers them for $1.5k (but then to be fair he doesn't send a watch so it's worse than if he sold for $2500)
Like Monta as you say.

I just threw out 2500 as it came to mind. Maybe kickstarter was the source? No one specific was the reference but yes Yao for 1500 fits this bill.

It's easy to assume one's cost of goods plus labor plus marketing costs plus, plus, plus etc. when assessing a Micro offering. But in reality, we really don't know a company's true cost to bring a watch to market. That being said, with some of the offerings out there I think it's safe to say the price to value ratio is a bit out of whack... no matter how many hours they've spent on the project.

Jason seems to be offering a solid product at a fair price. He's been able to back that up with good reliability and excellent customer support/service. Pretty simply recipe for success. But a helluva lot of work though to pull it off,
