Sinn U1P and EZM1
Sinn U1P and EZM1
Just thought I'd post these pics I took weeks ago. These two are a perfect Sinn combo. I love how the U1P borrows the larger Sinn logo in red from the EZM1.
These two are of course completely different watches, and one of those differences is the weight. The Sinn U1P in tegmented submarine steel comes in at 225g on bracelet. The EZM1 in bead blasted titanium is only 72g on bracelet. Huge difference.
Even though I was having issues with the weight of the U1P on bracelet early on, I wore it mostly on bracelet during my vacation on the beach recently and had no issues. I'm thinking it was due to my nerve problem flaring up.
What makes the U1 Professional wearable for its weight is the case design. It is 44mm wide, but pretty flat feeling due to the wide and flat caseback. It is 14mm tall. The EZM1 is 16mm tall, and has a slightly more rounded caseback that makes it sit kind of tall. The height is usually no problem while wearing it because of how light weight it is.
The first time I un-boxed an EZM1 I was worried that it was too light, like there was a problem or the movement was missing Really, the last one I just got from JP, I had the same feeling since it's been years since I held one. It feels like a toy.

Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
Ben those are some killer pics. I am convinced that the U1P is the best looking Sinn period....
Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
I have to add that unlike most people I absolutely love the handset on the U1. Yes blocky but I appreciate the basic bold look and appear to float on the dial.
Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
I really like Sinn watches. Those two are two of the best.

Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
awesome side-by-side comparison, Ben
such completely different watches... if I had a beefier wrist, the U1P would've been a keeper as well

Great photos, Ben. They really show the small design cues I borrowed from the EZM1.

Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
Great photos. Didn't realize how small the EZM1 looked compared to the U1. Say what you will about the outer AR, you can really see the benefit in these photos vs the EZM1.

Thanks guys. Yeah, as a long time Sinn fan and constant Sinn repair shop-donor, these two are hard to beat. Add a black bezel EZM2 hydro (I've been trying to pry off Wu's wrist) and that's a nice threesome.
That is a great point. To be honest, the one thing that bothers me about the EZM1 is the constant glare due to the dome shape. It tends to be at every angle, and it makes you appreciate low light when it is not visible. I don't know how much outer and inner AR will help, but I can say that I had an EZM1 with inner AR (was installed after a factory service) and it did not due much to help, just made it a blue shade reflection.

Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
Great pics. Two of the best Sinns ever.
Re: Sinn U1P and EZM1
While both are very nice, you need to step back from the Wu. I was trying to pry the EZM2 from Chris, but Chairman Wu was more persuasive (soft hands I'm sure). If that sucker goes it has to be mine. Besides, it doesn't need a service so it's not your style.BBK357 wrote:^^^
