SNES Classic

Post by unsub073 » Mon Jun 26, 2017 2:26 pm

Looks like Nintendo is up to their old tricks again. This time with the SNES games.

https://www.polygon.com/2017/6/26/15873 ... t-of-games
The SNES Classic Edition is coming Sept. 29, Nintendo of America announced. The box will include 21 games on it for $79.99, giving it a smaller library than the discontinued NES Classic for $10 more — perhaps because there’s an extra controller in the box.

I might want one, but I'd need to know all the games before buying.

Get a USB snes controller and run an emulator for every game. The new star fox is intriguing though.

I haven't read anything yet on it, but the NES version of this was not updatable (without hacks), so I will assume the same will be true with this one. Once it's in the wild, someone out there will figure it out to add more goodies to it.

My wife got the NES version through some couponing for like $20 out the door a couple months ago once the hype died. It's fun. The last console I ever owned was a SNES before I got into adult stuff and still own it but lost a lot of games. My 4yo loves playing excite bike because it's all he's able to do. My only gripe is the control seems to be a bit delayed (lemon?) and there's only one.

I'll put her on to this for a post-Christmas deal just for Street Fighter Two and let you guys know what she finds if you can wait that long as she's a super bargain hunter. It'll be winner if the controls aren't delayed as I played the crap out of that game back in the day. I'll still drop a couple dollars on the rare occasion I run across an arcade... I don't gamble but Reno casino arcades are really well done these days for nostalgia. I make a point to stay at Atlantis, Peppermill Game Lab when working those areas.

Some classics listed...

F-Zero was great if you were into racing, Star Fox was great and way ahead of its time in story and graphics I remember so part II sounds interesting, and Final Fantasy III seems like it might be fun having only played and beat Final Fantasy II.

My brother in law, got the NES Classic for our boys and we hooked it up to the Odyssey. Three hour drive to Siesta Key was a blast. Even My wife got in the action. Just listening to the old school games threw me back to the good ol' days, 😀.

This SNES package has all hit games I played in my gaming days. Hope to score this as well.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

I hate their utter failure of a supply chain turned demand generation strategy, unless I can just log onto amazon and order one of these effortlessly, I'll likely never buy a nintendo product ever again. Plus I'm getting too old for this shit.

I just had to pay $90 over MSRP for a Switch for my little guy's 7th birthday. It is disgraceful that they still can't get these delivered to stores in a reliable fashion.

Sounds like Nintendo is pulling a Rolex with availability. Or, their supply chain sucks.

Though the Super NES Classic was announced over a month ago, US retailers have yet to begin offering pre-orders for the console ahead of its September 29 launch (though international pre-orders are already being flipped for inflated eBay prices). Now, Nintendo is promising via Facebook that domestic pre-orders will start "late this month" at "various retailers."

My best friend referred me to his friend's wife who had a ticket to pick one up today. All she wanted was face value plus a case of 6-pack. I agreed and gave her two 6-packs for her troubles.

New Amazon program. They have these trucks and everyonce in a while in chosen cities they'll run a special. Today it was the SNES. They text you letting you know what the truck has and give you chance to buy and you can pick it up later that day.
