Hirsch Robby

Post by Chocodove » Fri May 19, 2017 9:12 am

Considering one for my U1P since I've determined it's a strap watch for me. Any feedback on the Hirsch Robby? I kinda like the black/red one. I seem to remember them being well received, but can't find any threads at the moment. Also open to other waterproof strap suggestions. I'm all set with isofranes and nylon.

I would probably rock it on an Isofrane or a charcoal NATO. Some one (Wu?) posted one on an Iso and it looked terrific. Here is a photo of the Hirsch on a U1 SDR and it isn't bad. The red accents are minimal on the Professional though, so straight black might be better.

^ one can buy a black buckle separately from ISO and probably mount it on T's rubber.

That's exactly how I wear mine. That Hirsch looks terrible.

That looks bad.

Too bad the bracelet doesn't fit you well.

ISO or NATO/ZULU

Terry's N80's should work well, too.

Have you played with the bracelet links. It took me a while to get it right, but there's enough adjustment on the bracelet to get a good fit. If it doesn't work, I'd toss it in isofrane, nato or a canvas strap. It works well on any of them.

I got it pretty close, but with the weight, case height, and non-taper I find it wears pretty large/uncomfortable for me.

I quite like it on the Sinn tang rubber and Zulus, so that's probably what I'll use the most.

Understandable. Smaller Rolex tapered bracelets ruin us.

Yep. Along with glidelock, ruined pretty much every other bracelet for me.

Me too. I can't wear a bracelet now unless it has an adjustable clasp.

Sometimes adding more to one side or the other will affect fit on the wrist. Even though it's the same overall length, the clasp position can make it feel different.

Sinn bracelet does taper. Just 2mm though. Think Rolex tapers 4 mm. I prefer U1's on the bracelet. The clasp is rough on your nails though.

Funny you should mention that. I actually had to tighten it at first because of some issues (pin actually fell out). But then I tightened it too much and it was exactly that - rough on my nails.

I loosened it a tad, and now it's perfect on my nails.

Had a Hirsch Robby. Great strap, comfy as Hell. Will get one again.
