Incoming...
I know the love for Panerai has waned a bit on DWC but I still love the brand and the classic historic models.
I've been missing my 111 ever since I sold it and wanted to pick up another 44mm PAM. After a friend's failed attempt to find one recently (he's since moved onto the next shiny object), I decided to try my hand at hunting down a BNIB 000 and so I put out a bunch of feelers recently. Out of the blue today an AD contacted me and told me they had one left in stock. I grabbed it and it's on it's way to me as I type this. Should be here in a day or so. Now I finally have a use for that box of 24mm straps gathering dust in my closet...

Huge congrats! Without apology, Panerai is by far my favorite brand. Can't wait to see your pics.

Congrats. Love the base Pams I need one at some point. My 24mm straps have been sitting in a box too long

Surprised the heck out of me when I looked down and saw the email from them. Really didn't expect it.

Re: Incoming...
Well, unfortunately this one doesn't have a happy ending.
I received the watch on Wednesday and was shocked to see it's condition - it had numerous scratches on the non-crown side of the case, one on the bezel and a couple of small dings as well. This was sold as a "new" watch from (wait for it...) a Panerai Boutique! I have no idea how they could have possibly thought this watch was fit to be sold as new. I have a two year old 372 that I've worn often and it is in far better condition. Needless to say I returned the watch for a refund. On the plus side they sent along a very cool two-volume hardcover set of books (in a nice slip cover) detailing all of the Panerai Special Editions from 1997-2014 which they told me to keep. That was a very nice gesture, but I would have preferred the watch...

Re: Incoming...
Thanks Mike. I'm very reluctant to buy second-hand Panerais given all of the fakes out there which is why I was happy to find one at an AD. Oh well, plenty of other watches to be bought...rockmastermike wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2017 2:59 pmsorry to hear that, Andrew - that sucks. Now reload and find another...good luck

Sorry to hear about that Andrew
There's always another 000 around the corner.

Re: Incoming...
Sounds like a floor model. "Display new". Sorry to hear it.

Unforgivable on their part. The hunt goes on; sometimes the best part.

Yeah, seems like it spent considerable time on the floor Certainly not what I'd call the "boutique experience".matt.wu wrote:Sounds like a floor model. "Display new". Sorry to hear it.
