New Eterna KonTiki Divers
New Eterna KonTiki Divers
Remember the KonTiki Bronze guys? Now there are three brand new stainless steel
versions being unveiled.
Marking the 70th Anniversary of Thor Heyerdahl's legendary voyage from Peru to
Polynesia. The three new stainless steel versions have 44mm cases, 200m WR,
unidirectional rotating ceramic bezels, matte "cracklepaint" dials with Super-
Luminova markers, and hands. On the white dial though, you have a lume dial
instead with added black/grey Super-Luminova everyone.
Movements within the KonTiki Divers look to be the Sellita SW200 instead of in-
house 3902A this time around, with a date window at 4:30. Plus there are choices
of bracelet, and rubber straps as well. Even the case-backs are cool...

I like these, weird bezel and all. Thanks for the heads up, Tom.

I like the blue one. Doubt I'll get one though. I don't care for those hands.

I should have qualified my earlier statement regarding doubts of picking one up. With a discount (steep), quite possibly.

I Like the 1st one you posted, Tom - thanks!
Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
I want to like Eterna divers, but the odd choices of hands leaves me cold. Otherwise I dig it.
Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
I like the blue best as well, although I'm still trying to figure out how to use that bezel. I'm also kind of perplexed at how they decided to completely eliminate the 4 o'clock indice and simply have the date wheel displayed there.
I think this is why the blue looks best to me - the date window serves the purpose of the 4 o'clock marker. The white dial version looks really odd with that big gap between 3 and 5.
Eterna also missed the opportunity to re-use those fitted rubber straps they offered on the KonTiki date. Those look nice and I would own one for my KonTiki date if Eterna didn't want $600 to buy one.

I like the black one, but how the hell does the bezel work?

Nod to the original, but it comes off like a micro.
Prefer the originals.

Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
The bezel is a decompression gauge, like Doxa uses, but Doxa doubles up and pairs it with a standard countdown bezel. The Eterna bezel is cool, but not practical for most of us. I like the watch a lot though. Wish it was 42mm.
Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
Dam thing larger than my Issued Eterna Kontiki Super IDF that's 42 mm with 20 mm lugs. If they used that size instead of 44 MM and 22 lugs might not be bad. This is another alarm clock.
Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
Interesting---mixed on the date window and prefer a 42 case..

Re: New Eterna KonTiki Divers
Oddly I kind of like them. The bezel is pretty strange but I guess that is the uniqueness of the watch. Maybe a nice Black Friday later in the year and I'll take one home.
