Vintage Movements in Modern Cases

specifically pocket watch movements, some of the movements made in the USA in the early 20th century were considered to be the best watch movements in the world during their day. With the advent of "oversized" men's watches this has enabled the fitting of these vintage movements into wristwatch cases, giving them a new lease on life these are my two, a Panerai Homage, and a Pilot watch both housing a Hamilton 917 movement, these m movements are dimensionally almost identical to a Unitas 6497 (not sure about the number), but much better made:

these are my pilot watch the Panerai homage is listed in another post in the Panerai forum. I think it's a great way to breath new life into a very good vintage movement.

Just curious what are the case dimensions? And I am curious where you sourced your parts (even though it most likely will not work for my tiny wrist).

It looks great. I always appreciated those old Hamilton movements. The only thing that kept me away is the larger case needed to hold them.

the case is a 44mm case so it's not huge, also relatively thin here is where I sourced most everything:

same with old cortebert movements: i hear from watchmakers that they won't guarantee such a swap, as the old movements don't have shock absorbing systems like incabloc to protect the balance.
