Buckles

Post by t20569cald » Wed Oct 26, 2016 8:52 pm

So I made this.
I have a couple of samples made and will be sending out now (yes Terry, yours) and a couple of worse than thought cell phone pics.
24mm and 22mm roller buckles for the time being. Polished screws for contrast, but they can be anything, brushed . bead blasted etc.
I am doing all this (after the cutting) by hand, and due to it being new to me, this buckle took 3 hours to finish!

I plan to make 7 or 8 different styles of buckle over the next couple of months and then tackle a watch case.

I'd love to see that buckle with a tang wide enough for an Isofrane. Possible?
Would that lug bar fit through an Isofrane?

Of course it is easy to make the tang, but no, that 3mm bar would not fit an Isofrane.
The Isofrane hole is too close to the top of the rubber as well, and you would weaken it to the point of useless if you reamed it out far enough to fit.

Edit: I should add, that the pins could be made to suit with a fixed head one side. But min order on pins ( I dont make those) might be too many for demand on buckles to suit that strap

Very nice Todd, If it were possible to make something to fit the ISO it would rock
to have an Aegir buckle to compliment the watch with its factory strap. Great work.

So I will not be using the Isofrane after the last cases I have now, which is approx 12 more in total.
Time for a change, I will be either make leather straps (Wife) or buy handmade ones in to fit the buckle.

These are going to work great with canvas! It may require a little more bend in the tang for it to sit right, but it'll look great.

These look awesome. I'm in for a few. Maybe offer a few different finishes. I hope for a bead blasted version.

No that's the roller buckle from one of Todd's Metta Catherina straps that I put on my Drew canvas.
