Just in.....modded Seiko SSC015

Post by hoppyjr » Thu May 05, 2016 3:52 pm

I picked up this Seiko SSC from Henry, then promptly sent it off to Duarte for a little work. The hands are from Yobokies and are designed for the quartz Seiko's, while the domed sapphire (with inner AR) is from Crystal Times. It's the same size sapphire as the new NAFT models. To complete the look I ordered a genuine MM300 rubber, as Cesar said this combo worked well. He was correct. The hands use C3 Lume and match the dial well.

I'm pleased with the result, but can't take credit for this concept. A guy on WUS did the same thing, but on Yobokies BOR. I'd love to keep it, but will likey sell this one soon as I'd like another CWC, TSAR, an Alpina, or maybe another Aegir.

Here she is;

Looks nice... certainly better then the stock hands. :grin:

Good to know that the crystal is the same size too. :thumbsup:

I'm normally anti-mod, but that looks pretty good.

Since posting I've been looking at it in different lighting and it really looks terrific. I considered bead blasting it, but didn't pull that trigger. The hands and sapphire really transforms the watch and makes it look more expensive. I was aiming for a less expensive alternative to the Resco Manus and this definitely qualifies.

Looks great on the MM300 rubber. That is a terrific strap. Nicely done Ed.

Cool. :thumbsup: I just ordered the black version with yellow highlights. Mine will stay stock, but I may have to find one of those MM300 straps for it.

You can drop in the same crystal as the NAFT, which Duarte stocks now.

Looks great. I bet given the specs and overall case design this wears the same as the SBGE001, so now you know how that would wear at fraction of the price.
