New to me 5000T Caribbean

Post by Chocodove » Mon Feb 29, 2016 4:32 pm

I had a 5000T Sharkhunter that was part of the sell off for my 114060, and for some reason of all the watches I let go I always missed the Doxa the most (along with my PO 2500). Say what you will about the current iteration of the company, but I love the designs. To me, it's exactly what a dive watch should look like. Especially the Caribbean dials, which I think are some of the best blues out there.

I trolled recon regularly for quite a while and whenever a 5000T was listed, it was either grossly overpriced, snapped up quickly, or I simply didn't have the cash at the time. Luckily, a 5000T Caribbean popped up the other day at what I felt was a fair price and to top it off, it's the COSC version of the ETA 2892 movement with a later date on the warranty card. The previous owner also brushed the polished parts of the bracelet, which I actually prefer. This will spend most of its time on an Iso, however.

I had to have it, so here we are.

Happy to have this going into the warmer months, I'm sure it will be a constant on my wrist during the many days I spend at the beach.

Some crappy photos that are probably very large:

Very nice, love the blue dial, and hadn't seen steel hands on a Doxa.
I also want a blue (or preferably turquoise) Doxa for my first - but probably not gonna happen this year.

What a great find!

I love my 5000T Professional (orange). The steel hands and raised indices add a nice touch of class to a tool diver. My favorite DOXA. I think I may need to find a DOXA Caribbean.
