Ares Auto GMT
Ares Auto GMT
Looks like it will up for preorder on Friday. Anyone have info (specs? price?)? Haven’t received any emails with details...
Love my OG version and this looks great IMO.

ARES modified ETA 2893-2
That’s what I got via email from Matt. Don’t know much else. I assumed same specs as the diver 1

If only there was an Ares forum where we could get updates on new releases and stuff.

Posted back in June on IG. I'm all in on this one. Matt builds a solid watch. Can't wait!

Thought it was going to be another quartz, but if it’s an auto I’m probably in. I dig my Diver-1, but really do prefer auto.

Yep, just got the email as well. Love it but can’t swing the price at the moment.

I wish Matt and Ares the best of luck, but this one doesn't do anything for me.

Got the email, saw the price, I’m out. I understand what he is trying to do, but just way more than I anticipated. I wish him luck and am reasonably sure 50 will go.

Re: Ares Auto GMT
Yeah. The quartz price was already tough for me, but I like supporting a friend. This one is probably too much for me to spring for.

Re: Ares Auto GMT
I agree with you, Michael.
I enjoy my Ares 1 Quartz and like the looks of this one (dual time zone plus timing bezel), but at $2K, you are in Oris, Longines, and Bell and Ross territory, all with the same movement.
If this was priced more in alignment with the Farer Lander II (another good looking, albeit less tactical-looking 2893-2 GMT watch) at about $1,400, I'd be a buyer.
I wish Matt the best of luck and nothing but success.
Re: Ares Auto GMT
I wish Matt great success, but at $2k there are so many other watches I'd rather buy (and I can't afford those either, right now ).
Re: Ares Auto GMT
Ah the difference to me between 1500-1600 or 2K is negligible. I’ve had several sinns around that price and when I needed service, it was a bit of a pain. With Matt’s GMT you get (what I consider) a bad a$$ piece and most likely incredible service.
As to this particular watch, for those of us that travel a lot, multiple time zones are truly appreciated. The size of the watch, at 42 is perfect and the lume will be spectacular. Win win

I just went on recon and saw what was out there for around 2K and the best thing I found was a 10 year old 2254 lol. Plus Matt’s good people and I want to help him succeed - money well spent, IMO.
