Meccaniche Veneziane is changing to Manta Watches now?
Hahaha WTF? I guess from all the bad press their previous company has been going thru they decided maybe on a company name change? Who knows
I am just guessing though. Maybe the manufacture is reselling the product to another company and they are feeling things out?

Looks as if they are trying to cheat off of Monta’s paper. The logo and name look similar to the casual observer.
Sneaky.

I didn’t know they had issues. Can anyone summarize what happened?

Lots of issues with initial Kickstarter-changing movements and other things during and after the campaign, issues with quality and service, long delays etc etc.Axelay2003 wrote:I didn’t know they had issues. Can anyone summarize what happened?
Basically the company is a piece of shit and one to stay away from.

Wow, I was close to jumping in on their kickstarter project.

Wasn’t it you who in another thread recently told us you tended to be very trusting? :-)Axelay2003 wrote:Wow, I was close to jumping in on their kickstarter project.

I think they sold out with 15 minutes on KS. So yes people buy them.

10-4. I was looking for another watch with GMT complication due to my recent travels. Initially, I thought it was a good design(specifically, the Topazio Crema and Basalto Crema). I concluded that I would probably not wear it enough to justify pre ordering and waiting for it.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 7:13 pmWasn’t it you who in another thread recently told us you tended to be very trusting? :-)Axelay2003 wrote:Wow, I was close to jumping in on their kickstarter project.

Different company. A new member in the WUS forum asked if anyone would buy his dream watch. The flames were hot as everyone stated it was an MV clone with a Monta name ripoff. He stated he didn't see the connection and it was too late as he's started production. Weirdly he was able to change the wording on the dial based on suggestions to "Divermatic" from something Tissot had used in the past. Take it for what it's worth, certainly not an MV or a Monta...

so many things not matching up. why would someone started production on a watch before seeing what has already been made? and why start production before you even gauge interest? yep i do not buy itChaseOne wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:39 amDifferent company.
