Yup^^^^
No red on bezel pip.
No red on bezel pip.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.
Re: Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype Pictures - First look
I haven’t been able to view the original prototype photos due to my location, but the hands as shown in the above post should be broader and the minute hand longer (truer to the original). I’m a no to both the red bezel pip and date wheel. Old school for me.
Re: Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype Pictures - First look
red numerals do look very sharp but no red accent @ 12 pleeze...
and I agree, the hands should be broader and the minute hand could extend closer to the hash-marks

Re: Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype Pictures - First look
Even in the pictures, a red date wheel is harder to read quickly than white. If it’s about functionality, white on black beats red any day. At night, under red light, the date would completely disappear.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Why red on black? Not enough contrast to be legible, and not enough to balance the dial either. My vote is to stick with the proto layout.

Hey guys,
I am keeping the date wheel white on black. Prefer to stay somewhat true to the Mil style and legibility is key to me. The red is too difficult to read and brings the eye to it too much IMO. Working on the hand set now.
Will post more pictures when ready.
Regs,
Todd

I don’t have issues reading the date on this.

Nope. Nor do I. It’s the placement perhaps working against my eyes.

Re: Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype Pictures - REVISED and updated
Here are some Q&D (please excuse the lint etc.) of the revised prototype. Ghost dial in matte finish, wider hand set and improved bezel/insert.
The seconds hand will be red-tipped, the crown will be recessed in more and there will be drilled lugs on the production pieces.

I’d like to see a matte bezel, which would suit the theme of this watch better.
Could a matte metal insert be an option?

Looks good. Would also be interested in a matte bezel option.

Now that’s just about right.
