Tockr's D-Day C-47

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:27 pm

Here is a cool one with Veteran's Day right around the corner from Tockr.
Did you guys have a chance to see them already?

The D-Day C-47 looks to have been done in collaboration with CAF, or the
Commemorative Air Force to help in the restoration of the That's All, Brother
C-47 aircraft. The historic plane that lead the invasion of Normandy.

With each limited edition watch actually using salvaged material from the
aircraft for the dials. Which will come in three degrees of "weathering"
like "clean cut", "stamped", and "hard-worn". All with eye-catching numbering,
and also hands. Then on top of that, you have 42mm cushion-like cases,
sapphire crystals, green fabric, or leather straps, along with ETA 2824-A6
automatic movement also.

Some pictures for you...

It's too gimmicky. But I feel the same way about most watches that use metal from historic something or other.

The clean cut dial is just that, pretty clean. I personally like the stamped versions.

And then tried to remove it with a paint scraper.
