New Crepas Release On Kickstarter

Post by mattcantwin » Thu Oct 25, 2018 5:58 am

Just received an email about a new Crepas diver:

Dear customer,

We would like to introduce the new model, just launched yesterday night. The name is CREPAS PLONGEUR and you can purchase on Kickstarter with a promotional price.

From 499 euros, final price (don’t need to add VAT or shipping cost), but just only available in the platform for the next 9 days. After that, you can purchase directly from us but the price would be 649 euros plus VAT, 21%.

Also, we offer a lot of rewards in the purchase so don’t miss the opportunity to get this amazing model at this killer price!!!

Here you can find de link where you can see the pictures, specifications and more details about the Plongeur:

Please contact us in case you need some further assistance during the purchase.

Thank you so much in advance for your support.

Crepas opted for a lumed caseback:

The lumed logo on the back, besides being very cool, serves to locate the watch at night.

It's not a bad looking watch, although that deep rehaut looks a little off to my eye.

I don’t find it that attractive. I’m not a big fan of the aged lume look, or the old school black sapphire bezel insert.

I like most of their other releases better. This just doesn't look right.

I kinda like it. But I don’t see the size mentioned and I agree with Dovid that the chapter ring is way too deep. I had a CWC quartz with a deep dish chapter ring and I couldn’t stand it.

More info:
• CASE: Ø42 mm, 316L Stainless Steel.

• BEZEL: Ø42,50 mm, 316L Stainless Steel.

• MEASURES: Lug width 22mm, lug to lug 51mm, thickness 14,70mm.

• MOVEMENT: Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 Elaboré grade.

• HVR: automatic helium valve release placed at 9 position.

• CRYSTAL: Antireflective double domed sapphire glass (box sapphire style)

• HANDS/INDEXES: Faceted diamond cut with lume.

• LUME: Swiss Old Radium.

• BEZEL: Unidirectional rotatable 120 position with domed ceramic insert.

• WR: 100ATM = 1000m.

• STRAP: Solid riveted bracelet with heavy endlinks.

• CROWN: Screw down crown over tube with 5 o-ring gaskets.

• CASE BACK COVER: Two opening systems. Blind window with lume logo.
One of the most important things when designing a back cover is that when it opens and closes it does not damage the metal with the tool of the watchmaker. In the Plongeur model we have used two systems to open and close the lid. The first system is the five-point system, and the second one is the system with 15 sides. With these systems the metal should not be marked or damaged. With the Plongeur model we return to using a resource used in another previous model. The lumed logo on the back, besides being very cool, serves to locate the watch at night.

Kickstart is almost at 100k. Freaking crazy

Same here. I hated the polished chapter ring on the CWC. It actually took away from the legibility of the watch for me. The Crepas looks even deeper though, so it would really suck. I hope it isn't though.

interesting mishmash of styles, but that chapter ring is way too deep and ruins it for me

This is a weird statement on their kickstart:
You will see that the SWISS MADE legend does not appear in the photographs of the prototype. This is because when we made the order for the prototype, we still did not have a clear idea of where to assemble and perform the quality control.

Definitely all watches will be assembled and tested in Switzerland. The assembly in Switzerland consists of preinspection of each component of the watch, assembly, runing test and control of watertightness.
