The Dive Watch Connection

Hi gents,
Been toying with the idea of a Mil series dive watch for a while and decided to finally take an initial stab at something. This series will be denoted by the circle around my Trident logo to differentiate from my standard series dive watches. I will also be using only Swiss movements with these watches. I'd love to do a Pilot next but, one step at a time.

As always, thoughts, input etc. is always welcomed and appreciated.

Since we are giving helpful criticism I would like it if the crown side was a little less pronounced and the crown was exposed a little bit more. My symmetry OCD would appreciate it

Looks like a nice offering to me. I can’t pretend I understand what mil spec means so I ask the google. I find minimalist, luminous, and easy to read. This design meets those points, so I’m satisfied.

I like the asymmetry.

I actually quite like the rendering--and at that price point seems like a great deal. The sizing/dimensions sound about perfect. It's hard to tell from the rendering, but if the lug holes are as far out as the earlier Karlskrona's, it would be a pass for me; I don't wear NATO's very often. And I definitely agree on nogo for applied indices. I don't know what others would think, but red date wheel might be kind of cool.

Awww man it makes my skin itch! It is like a tile pattern with one tile flipped the opposite direction.

Is this going to be an entirely new case? I tried the Nordic Shield, and it didn't sit well on my wrist. I'd prefer that the thickness was reduced.

Probably not, but is anyone else currently producing one besides Yao? I certainly won't give that guy my money.

Precista and Marathon to name 2. There have been dozens over the years that came and went because Fullswing and others offer the cases in their catalogs.

Could still be a market as long as it is decent quality and relatively thin. The original Benrus was thin and easy wearing. Homages often don’t get this right.

What about keeping the applied indicies, but all white? Would give the dial some depth while keeping with the theme, and differentiate it a bit from the “other” homage.

Pelagos is a good example.

It's in his 'Ready to wear' series I thought that Marathon still produced something in the Benrus Type 1 vein.

Yao's version is $895!!!

I like this idea. I'm a fan of applied indices as I feel they make a watch look more "rich", and while I agree they don't really belong on a mil-spec type watch, I think applied with a white border is a good compromise.

Depth to the dial is key.

As for another homage to this style, if this is sized right, I'd much rather give Todd my $$$ than some of the others making these.

Looks good - like that it has a date, (currently) slick dial and the option for a second time zone bezel

I am trying to find the balance of keeping with the heritage of this style with being "just different enough" from the others that have recently done a similar piece.
My main goal is to bring a quality watch to market with Swiss movement at a good value price. Ohh, and deliver it within 4-6 months from Preorder.

I like this one. Obviously we have seen the design before but I appreciate what Todd is trying to do and bring this design in an affordable watch.

Question: is it the bezel diameter that is 41mm? If it is the overall width being 41mm then this one would wear too small for me. I like the feel of a 43mm watch.

Keep the asymmetrical case design. It adds visual interest.

I like it.

And I won't have to wait 10 years for it.

It sounds like a dresser from Ikea. Do I have to put it together?
