Lorier Watches - Neptune diver

Post by mfxr » Thu Mar 29, 2018 6:11 pm

I noticed a few Pics getting around Instagram, and thought I would take a look.

I am not usually interested in micros, or homagey style watches, but occasionally something like this pops up that piques my interest.

I ended up impulse buying (preorder) the blue version, so I will see what it is like soon enough I guess!

Looks good on the NATO. Like the vintage feel and plexi crystal.

Just arrived today.
Early impressions are all very positive. Wears really well and does not feel as small as the 39mm spec might suggest.
Very classic Sub sized, but with a bit of thickness making it feel a bit more substantial.

I am impressed with the details like the polished chamfers, enameled dial and bubble acrylic crystal. The bracelet looks pretty cool with kind of a flat link, tank-track vintage style, and wears comfortably (nice taper also).

It has an obviously retro vibe, with clear design cues from vintage Tudor/Rolex/Omega etc, but does not feel too derivative to me.

Comes in a nice little leather pouch with a couple of tools.

Honestly, for $389 I am impressed

I will try and add some better photos with size comparisons later, but here are a few quick and dirty pics.

That plexi dome is awesome. I never quite understood why plexi was desireable until now. I know they scratch much easier, but that dome is great and it looks like plexi is much less reflective than sapphire.

I didn’t get it at all until getting a Speedy. Now I am infatuated with the feel of a Plexiglass dome.

Cool looking watch, definitely different then usual. I guess the trend now is to make smaller watches...

That's a very cool watch, especially for the money.

Really like these, especially the gilt dial. The gilt and blue have been sold out for a while, so was going to order the only remaining version - black dial/white markers, which I also like. Well, of course I waited too long and now all are sold out.

Not all is lost however. Found a LNIB (pouch?) gilt for sale on WUS, and was able to pick it up. Should be here in a couple of days. Can't wait!

Cool, the gilt dial would have been my 2nd choice after the blue. I am not surprised they sold out, they are an impressive little package.
Very good bang for buck.

Yeah, the blue looks great. It'd be a tough choice if both the gilt and blue were available.

Got an e-mail from Lorier yesterday. Looks like a limited number of each style are back in stock, and will be available beginning Friday 6/22.

Hmmm...might hear a blue dial calling my name.
