Halios Roldorf Edition
Halios Roldorf Edition
In SS and DLC. No pricing or timing yet.
halioswatches Here's your first look at the Roldorf edition of the Seaforth. Fixed bezel only, available in either DLC or SS case, ETA 2892-A2 movement. This is one of two dial options (the other will feature a creme centre). To be assembled in a great little watch shop in Vancouver by two gentlemen that I'm thrilled to be collaborating with on this project (find them @roldorf). We'll be working over the next few days to finalize pricing and hopefully have the pre-order open by next week. N.B. current pre-order participants, check your inbox and spam folders - I just sent out a mailing yesterday (unrelated to the Roldorf edition) but 18% are unopened as of today.
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
meh. i'm sure some people will like it, but i think this is by far the least inspired of Jason's lineup.
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
WTF...that’s not for me, but as they say there is a lid out there for every trashcan.
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
I think I like it.
Would have been better without the 3-6-9.
WTF is “ata” ?

So basically it’s a DWC special edition?CGSshorty wrote:Ass-to-ass?hoppyjr wrote:I think I like it.

Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
ATA is basically the same as ATM from what I have read....
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
https://www.scubaboard.com/community/th ... ne.247788/ATM is atmospheres, but ATA is atmospheres Absolute. In other words, 33' of water is 1 ATM of water but it is 2 ATA because of the 1 atmosphere of air above it.
so, essentially, it seems like 20ATA is the same as 19ATM.

Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
Would love to see the cream dial version. It would provide nice sharp contrast - something I like

I like it, but not enough to sway me from holding out for the GMT.
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
It’ll sell out. Probably won’t be many here though.
Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
One of the problems with these kinds of dials (without the minute markers) is when it's powered down and you go to reset it, if you want the minute and second hands to be aligned right you need to set it at one of the 12 5-minute periods during the hour so the minute hand will line up with the markers when the second hand hits 12. When you have the minute markers, it's not even something you have to think about. It's one of the thing that annoys me on the 422 when I wind it up and go to set it, but the 422 sandwich dial and domed sapphire make it an acceptable annoyance. Also, at first glance, I thought it was an all green dial - didn't know the center was black. That makes it even a little less attractive to me.

Re: Halios Roldorf Edition
Most divers use either BAR and ATA interchangeably but they are not exactly equal.
1atm = 1ATA = 1.013 bar = 14.7psi
Here's a question though; how many meters of water resistance do you think this watch is rated for then?
Because Omega hasn't been able to work it out
