Did he run out of money and couldn't afford to index the whole bezel??

I can’t say for sure but since he is real Diver, and his guys do actually wear these, maybe they feel it’s not needed.bedlam wrote:Did he run out of money and couldn't afford to index the whole bezel??

On top of that, how many you think that buy these get any deeper than their bathtub with them?

Wasn't the Scurfa guy a commercial diver? They do things very differently and their surface team tracks their time, so he wouldn't have much experience using a dive watch as a timing tool.tattoo chef wrote: ↑Mon Mar 12, 2018 5:58 pmI can’t say for sure but since he is real Diver, and his guys do actually wear these, maybe they feel it’s not needed.bedlam wrote:Did he run out of money and couldn't afford to index the whole bezel??

There is also an ISO that describes what is necessary for it to be a dive watch. Why ignore the existing standard in the area?
Indexing the bezel takes nothing from those who don't dive and is a boon to those who use the watch as a dive tool so, again, why not index it? Honestly, I think he is just copying older designs without really thinking about the issues in play.

I definitely see no “issues in play”.bedlam wrote:Wasn't the Scurfa guy a commercial diver? Fair enough
Re: Scurfa putting out some killer pieces soon!
My guess.... they are risking pissing off a handful of real divers like yourself to produce a cleaner design that appeals to a broader audience perhaps. Just like Rolex, Omega, Tudor, SAS..... Life is about compromises.

Re: Scurfa putting out some killer pieces soon!
I have two of these, the MS17 above and the blue version. I thought I’d prefer the black MS17 but the blue is the clear fave for me. I wear the blue more. I like the upcoming no date vintage look with the brown rubber strap.
The quality on these is definitely a notch above the prior models and it’s made by the same factory that made the Bell Diver one.
He has a new one coming up which is a replacement of the old silicon but improved and a bit smaller. Also higher quality.

Nah.
From Scurfa:
Thank you for your enquiry. The M.S.18 will have a fully indexed bezel. It will be available around July.

Yeah. He can and does.
He offers both. Many don’t mind the bezel not being fully indexed. Aesthetically i prefer it. But both options exist

You are making the same point I started with many moons back. Micros are still copying a 1950's Rolex bezel design as used on the Sub when the dive watch ISO requirements have changed over time.
Even Rolex upgraded from that old bezel design on their serious dive watch, the Sea Dweller.

Re: Scurfa putting out some killer pieces soon!
Unless I'm mistaken the ISO requirement is a 60 min bezel with markings every 5 min. I could be wrong but a lot of other (current) watches have a similar set up (5min markings with minute markings for the last 15min) such as Tudor BB, Blancpain FF, Aegir, etc.bedlam wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:02 pmOMG.rain_maker wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 7:30 pmI've seen this from another watch company. You are referring to the old standard. The current ISO 6425 says:rain_maker wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 8:22 pmUnless I'm mistaken the ISO requirement is a 60 min bezel with markings every 5 min.
