A few already for sale on recon. US$1500 for a pastel one.... what did those things costs originally (I haven't followed this at all to be honest)?

$650-700 depending on model.

Those ebay prices are ridic. I wouldn’t pay 1500 for one even if it had a beer flavored crystal.
My gen 1 was nice but damn, these things are hyped to the max.

I want one of the Bahama dials. A fixed version would rock.

Jason went with a matte grey in the end. No texture.

Has Jason announced if/when round 3 will be?
I'm digging the yellow with fixed bezel.

new update on his site under "Journal"
Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
Biggest part of the announcement is, drumroll, pre-order process!
Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
After the first 3 attempts and losing one from my basket after Forasec got there delivery and they started turning up on EBay I managed to snag the one I wanted with a slight mark up off a decent guy in the Uk... He could have sold it for a lot more but he just chose to sell it on with the fees and a drink on it... Nimbus Grey Sapphire I can now let episode 4 wash right over me...lol

I hope he did this for the right reasons, and doesn't underestimate the new headaches and pressure on him throughout the process.
Mathematically, $200 makes sense as I believe that these are his cost on a per watch basis, and always believed that he makes about 400-500 watches with each seaforths run - to minimize his total outlay where he feels comfortable (80-100K is a lot to lay out plus Ispares, etc.).
I believe that there will still be unhappy people after this.
And I want an orange one.

Orange was mentioned as a possibility!
Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
kinda bummed to see banana no longer in the mix. was a toss up between yellow and pastel blue for me. would probably flip my blue no-date from the first round for one of those.

Not quite ready to open up the pre-order yet (apologies if I wasn't more clear in my last post, and if you were preparing to throw money in my direction), but here is a bit more info as we continue to put some meat on these bones. You'll also find a pre-order open date at the end of this post.
- Pastel Blue is confirmed, and while it will be the third time producing this dial, I quite like the fact that it has become somewhat of a defining colour for the series (go #teampastel).
- beginning to rethink the decision to produce the Abyss Blue again. Thoughts on a lighter shade that doesn't appear black 85% of the time?
- orange is a go!
- ...which leaves us the final colour: sunburst grey.
- development and design work continue on the Roldorf edition. Expect Arabic numerals, no date and the ETA 2892-A2. Also, expect the pre-order on this one to start at the same time as the regular 2824-2 Seaforth.
- no date will be an available option. For the better part of a year, I had been searching to no avail for a source for an ETA part to do a no-date modification, but thanks to a tip from Matt Cook of A.M. Cook Watches, a true no date option is in the works. More info to come.
So, let's set a date for the opening of the pre-order to save you from incessantly refreshing the Journal: THURSDAY, MARCH 8TH (Vancouver, Canada time). You won't have to worry about hitting the site at a certain time, or a watch being yanked from your cart, or your favourite variant being sold out this time around. The pre-order will be open for one week to start, after which we'll reassess whether or not it'll remain open. When the pre-order opens up, you'll see all the final dial and bezel options, along with mockups of the variants.

Re: Seaforth preorders tomorrow 1/18
could I kindly request for some simple measurement of the dial size?
1. end of applied hour markers (3-9)
2. end of printed minute markers (3-9)
thank you!
