It looks like Eterna is getting into the movement business. This one, and the one from the guys who make Rolex straps. Are there any others?

Eterna has been in the movement business for a long time. They are very high quality but expensive.JP Chestnut wrote:It looks like Eterna is getting into the movement business. This one, and the one from the guys who make Rolex straps. Are there any others?
I’d worry about long-term parts availability.

Good guy and nice watches.
I like his designs. He knows how to market his products.
Always a little too $ for me but at least this one is made in Switzerland and has a good mvt as opposed to the usual less $ Valjoux. This model imo justifies its high price more than the prior two even if I still find it too & for me.

Looks good. Price is definitely on the high side for how long they've been in business. They're riding the IG hype like the Monta guys, so I'm sure they'll sell out.

He's gonna be at the Toronto Redbar meet tomorrow night and will be showing this watch there. Look forward to seeing it.

This is the least appealing offering I have seen from him. Movement aside, this one does nothing for me.

Re: NEW Oak and Oscar Jackson, Flyback
I like everything about it with the exception of the case and especially the pushers. The case looks very utilitarian, like a pre-production prototype. It really lets down the dial which is really nicely executed. The pushes are too long as well. It's the first thing that I noticed. There's something not ready for prime time about it. Close, but it's missing something. Many Sinn's suffer from this as well, IMO, but this one more so.
This guy and the guy behind H20 should join forces and produce one really really nice watch.

It reminds me of a Shinola but with a nice movement.
I do like the leather case!

Re: NEW Oak and Oscar Jackson, Flyback
Price v value is always subjective.
This watch is a couple hundred more than what a 3 hand Aegir cost, with an arguably more expensive movement. Both are original designs made in smaller batches, so they're going to be more expensive to produce. I see no resemblance to shinola aside from maybe the dial color.
Either way, I'm still not a buyer. I agree that the case looks unrefined and the pushers are too long. The price is steep and it's difficult to know how long Eterna will even be around for.

Re: NEW Oak and Oscar Jackson, Flyback
Clearly I'm not the target audience because i'm not rich enough to pay that kinda money for a no-name watch.
But if I approach this from the stand point if I would wear it if it were given to me for free to promote on IG, I probably would.
Would I buy it instead of IWC, Tudor, Omega or whatever else you can get LNIB under 3K and some with In-house movements such as Rolex/Tudor or Omega, no I wouldn't
