Scuro's Bronzo

Post by AtomicTom » Wed Aug 02, 2017 3:03 pm

Not sure if you guys have already checked out this new pilot/diver from Scuro.

Their Bronzo has a nice looking 42mm bronze Cusn8 case, 200M WR, domed AR
coated sapphire crystal, bi-directional internal bezel, custom dual crowns, and
choice of eye-catching burst vintage blue, or brown, and even matte black
sandwich dials with Super-Luminova hands, and markers. Looks like you also
have the Miyota 9015 powering things, along with sail cloth, and leather straps.

Some pictures for you...

Are the crowns a different material than the case?

the laundry list of poorly finished is strong here.

crowns to case.
poorly finished sandwich dial.
date window not aligned.
detentes in the bezel just kinda looked mushed in there.

i can't even give this a "meh."

Scuro's Bronzo

I'm far from perfect but did the reviewer really just write this: Tucked into the case of the Scuro Bronzo, and under its domed sapphire crystal, you’ve got the friendly Miyota 9015.

Come on. Trying to hard and it comes off as stupid. The movement isn't "tucked in " and it isn't under the crystal, it is under a crystal and a dial, dial plate and hands. Also did he just refer to the movement as "friendly"? I think he meant familiar. Or maybe I am wrong and the 9015 is nicer to him than other movements and I stand corrected...
Just say what the movement is without trying to sound like you're writing a novel.

i like this picture from the review, which shows off three different material variations for case, crowns, and buckle.

Seems like all parts were made at different factories using different grades or bronze/brass.

I quite like the blue and the brown dials and the lume looks good through it but I don't like the hands and I'm not a fan of bronze cases. Can't complain about the movement, it's a tried and tested workhorse tucked away nice and cosy under the crystal
