Evant Tropic Diver...
Evant Tropic Diver...
I know there is a thread on the Main Forum but may as well start one here since Evant really is a true micro...
I followed the release of the original black dials and heard all the pros and cons before deciding to pass, even though the initial design was appealing...
when I got notice of the Blue LE of 300 and heard they'd changed some of the cons, I decided to jump... glad I did and very pleased with the results and value received... I tried a Halios Seaforth (black gilt/silver dive bezel) and even though it was a nice watch, I wasn't overly impressed at that price point and the Miyota spinning rotor sounded tinny and cheap and drove me crazy...
anyway, the build quality on the Evant is amazing for the $ and especially with ETA, icing on the cake... timed at -1 sec the past 24 hrs and I can't even hear this rotor as Gerald says 'Legit' the bezel and dial are works of art... if someone showed me this and it had 'Blancpain' on the dial, I'd probably say 'sure, why not?', it's that nicely executed... thick downturned lugs make it very comfortable...
also found that these bear a 'small' resemblance to this cool 60's Breguet 1646 diver that was apparently made in a very small quantity... I guess we know where the inspiration came from

Yup, legit!
Evant raised the bar on quality and value.

Re: Evant Tropic Diver...
I'd like to see this side by side with the first release.
I bought a black first release and it was tall as shit, had to be at least 16mm. The specs said like 13... to be honest that is what made me take it off after 10min. I hope this one is actually to spec because the dial is beautiful.

Legit! Gold highlights against the fume blue dial is just outstanding.

mine lost of total of 8 seconds in its first week, not too shabby, but hoping those numbers can improve
