The Helm Khuraburi. Holy Wow.
Just got mine. I've been focused on this micro-brand watch thing since I got into watches, back in 2007. (Jesus, 10 years...) The idea that I'm getting something of better value vs a heavily marketed watch is something I dig. Maybe that's true. Maybe it isn't. Dunno.
That said, Helm is amazing. This watch hits way above it's price point.
First, the shipping and communication. I can't tell you how nice it is to get an email thanking me for the purchase, with added tracking details--not only while in China--but also stateside with DHL, which even included tracking options linked that I couldn't even find on DHL's website. I received the watch today before work, and by the time I got home, I had an email from Helm thanking me again for the purchase and hoping that I enjoyed the new watch. So the Customer Service is BEYOND. I'm not often caught off guard, but I really am.
The packaging is pretty cool. A solid shipping box with spacers that protect the inner watch box. I thought I even saw rubber supports, but I could be wrong here. The box is capped on both ends, and under the top is a black envelope velcro'ed to underside. Within was a detailed instruction manual (not a sheet of paper), window decals, a logo sticker, and 2 cards--one for the warranty, the other stating the pressure testing and how this exact watch did. I mean, WHAT. Awesome.
Did I mention this was a $300 watch?
Inside, the watch was already on the zulu I ordered. The steel bracelet was safely to the side. When I lifted it to check it out, I saw it also had a small package of several pairs of springbars. A small touch, probably to some. But one that is honestly appreciated. I don't have any 22mm lug watches and this just covers me for the "just in case".
The watch has crisp details, great lume, a nice blued AR ring around the domed sapphire crystal, and subtle logo markings. Clean. No obnoxious name, no superlative whatevers. No date, even. (I actually didn't realize that until I got the watch.)
I went with the orange hand/orange lume bezel. Oh, the bezel is tight, firm and no play. (That sounds Jolly.)
Overall, just a cool watch from a company I know really respect. A case where the little things more than outweigh the obvious coolness of the watch. Helm really wowed me. I probably will need some time to get used to the "smaller" size of the watch (I have an SAS, a Bathys Ti, and a Halios Puck v2. LOL) So far the timing looks good, but we all know it takes some time.
Just really happy with this one. The Helm Khuraburi. Very cool. Pics to come.
Thanks for reading,
Mark

That's a great looking watch. Congratulations.
One thought I had is the short l-2-l combined with those heavily curved lugs is ideal for smaller wrists, but might be too small for larger flat wrists. Whether yes or no it would fit my wrist well.

Thanks, guys!! I dig it.
I think it'd be fine for larger wrists. I'm just under 7" (that's what she said), but the caseback anchors it on your wrist well. The curved lugs really help Zulus and such drape the wrist well.

Just ordered all sorts of gaudy orange straps from Terry. Can't wait!!! I've had more people ask about this watch than I expected. Kinda nice when non-WIS notice a watch. Lol

Looking Good Mark. The orange accents on your version looks sweet.
Mine arrived on Wednesday this week. I have been wearing it ever since. So far I'm happy with the purchase.
Here's a few quick cell phone pics I shot when it arrived....
It came with the Zulu strap installed.
I installed the beefy bracelet....
Love the look and feel on the bracelet....
