Agreed! Omega showed they can do two sizes Planet Ocean
Yep, reason why Tudor should make a 40mm Pelagos!

I think Jacob said it best by calling this watch market segment "throwaway watches". Maybe that is a bit harsh, but these aren't "heirloom" watches
Yep, I agree. And for some reason I only want to buy heirloom watches. This doesn't mean "expensive" watches, just that if I give my son an Oris, it's more probable that Oris watch company will still exist, in contrast to Monta watch company.

Yeah some watches look too big in 44
A 44mm IWC looks like a 38 in your wrist

Well, that sucks for the poor dude in Costa Rica who bought one full price.
Even at $2,350 I think they are priced high. Put a 2892-2 in there and price it at $1,200 and you maybe have something people would be interested in. That said, you can buy a ETA 2892-2 powered Steinhart with a grade 5 Ti case, applied indice dial, and engraved ceramic bezel insert (with lumed triangle) for $600.
You could wear that Steinhart for a year, then flip it and probably get $500 back. If it breaks, Steinhart will send you their FED-EX account number so you can send it back for repair.

I agree. I won't be surprised if we see an additional price drop or coupon in the future. Now seems like a good time to dig up that thread discussing the plan to inject this thing into brick and mortar stores.

I'd be pretty pissed if I bought one at full price. Just another reason to stay away from most micros IMO. True values are incredibly hard to discern in that arena.
That said, I do still like the design of the Ocean King.

To be honest, anyone that bought one deserves it. I just can't believe why would someone pay so more for a watch from a new micro brand when you can get a great watch from an established brand for that price. On top of that, is not like that watch is a completely new and original design.

Nice pieces but certainly do seem overpriced.

Someone from the brand came here to the board to discuss or am I misremembering?
I remember we were pretty unanimous in declaring their plan way too optimistic/ambitious.

From a discussion somewhere else if I recall.

I guess selling overpriced straps to Rolex guys isn't the strong foundational skill set they thought it was.

I'd rather have an ETA. Who knows where the hell Eterna is going to be in 5 years. These guys picked a terrible time to jump into this space.

That's still too much, that's a price of a lightly used Tudor Black Bay with in-house movement.

More expensive than a brand new MM300. A watch with chamfered inner lugs that actually looks nice.

good point and that too, mm300.
You just can't sell Payless Shoes sneakers for the price of Nike, doesn't work like that.

"Monta: the Payless Shoes sneakers of fine Swiss timepieces."
The real laugh is that they tried to claim their sneakers were actually BETTER than Nikes.

I don't remember exactly what he said, but the guy made some stupid claims about why you would want his watch over a real watch from a brand like Tudor.
