I plan on offering a couple of straps with it. The Rally style seems to work but until I have it on the wrist I won't know for sure.

Go with a basic brown leather or a canvas. Rally strap is more for racing themed watches.

I'd like to find a super thick NATO. Not sure if they would compromise comfort though. I'm not very familiar with them.

The Toxic "Shiznit" is thick and has an excellent weave (but not as nice as Shaniqua has!). If you're doing a fully brushed case, go this route.

Keep in mind, a thicker strap makes the watch sit higher on the wrist, so keep it slim.

Also, if you can use the green Vitol (?) gaskets they may be more durable.

Excellent, Ed. Thank you for the input! 👍🏼

I actually prefer his Toxic Tough Sh!t which has a weave that is a bit more toolish than his Shiznit. A little thicker than the shiznit as well. Image

I like this watch a lot. An affordable Quartz model might work well with the nonWIS folks too.
I like the strap on the rendering and a grey toxic nato would work well not too thick or it'll overwhelm the watch on the wrist.

Brice, I am really not a quartz guy at all and I'm not in touch enough with the following. Do you feel there is enough of a market for a small micro to offer one successfully?

Todd, you should jump in on the craze of the white (silverized?) dial and blue dial IWC Mark XVIII.

Image

I've also been looking for this watch, need another white dial in my life (I prefer the hands on the IWC):

I've come close to getting this one a few times. 11mm thick and a hardened steel German made case for $700 new.

Lum-tec makes it a part of their overall product line, i think the majority of combat models i have seen in WRUW threads have been quartz versions. But their quartz models are rather expensive in my opinion. I think Bryce is owned a couple of them so he might be better Equip 2 give an opinion on price points.

Brady, if you make this one without date and a numeral 3 instead and in 42mm I will buy 3

Edit: or move the date window to 6 o'clock where IWC should have done

I think there's a market and other brands have Quartz in their lineup like Bathys and Lum-Tec. They do well. Price point will be important though. Hard to justify a HK made micro with a regular Quartz mvt at 500$ imo. Needs to be cheap. 200-300 max imo if you do it.

I'm close to approving the Artillerist design and move to prototype build stage. I am considering a brighter red color. Thoughts?

Thank you for the input.

The top one is the toxic shiznit "seatbelt" weave

The bottom is the admiralty blue nato that uses the square hardware of the normal natos but the thicker weave of the Tough Sh!t nato.

I've had all three NATOs and the regular grey is best imo

I like the gray, tan or army green color best. I have some samples coming inbound and will try all on the prototype.
Thanks again Brice for your input.

I think the red is ok.
I really like this watch, so sorry it's big for me.

I tested the waters with the idea of a 38mm version but the demand just isn't there.

What about a 40mm version?

40mm was "too small" for the 42-43mm crew. 42mm was "too big" for the 39-40mm crew.
41mm... "jusssst right".

Cue Goldilocks.
